Removing the rocker cover

Removing the rocker cover

Postby 1245 SJ on Wed Mar 15, 2017 11:45 pm

Hi,
I have a 2008 Triton dual cab MY09 3.2L Diesel 110000km. I have recently cleaned the carbon from the intake manifold etc. It wasn't to bad and should be good for many more years. I decided to check and adjust the tappets while doing the cleaning and my question is. How does the rocker cover come off? It appeared to me that the motor has to be lowered or at leased a couple of the rear electric injectors have to be removed. Can the injectors be removed while the rocker cover is still on? Or, can the plastic socket on the top of the injector be removed after the injector pipes and cables have been removed. If those plastic sockets are removable that may be all the clearance it needs. I didn't use any force trying to get it off for fear of damaging the top of the injectors.
Hoping someone can assist, Cheers.

The rocker cover will lift off over the injectors, after the pipes have been removed, its tight but it comes off
