SUPER SELECT TRANSFER ACTUATOR

SUPER SELECT TRANSFER ACTUATOR

Postby jessetriton on Wed Sep 11, 2019 11:39 am

Hi all just has anyone pulled apart the super select transfer actuator. Acording to the manuals the high low and the center diff lock are on 2 shafts from.the unit. Compared to the single on the non SS. In the wire diagram shows 2 sets of wires for motor controls. I'm hoping this is true and there is 2 motors in there .because I would like to develop and kit that can allow 2wd low range option. Any help with this would be awsome.

Thanks .

See this thread. Relates to ML, but the basics are similar and should give you a head start.

Also do a search for posts by member coughy, who did similar in a Challenger.

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?

Being able to operate the dogs for Hi/Low and 2/4 independently is the ultimate solution. The front axle actuator is an easy shortcut.

I'd like to be able to simply disengage the centre diff lock on my ml and have the benefits of low range along with sharing the traction across all wheels.

That's the ultmate goal.
The MQ I have has no disconnect.
I should have the actuator next week will post my findings.

Mitsi transfer boxes must be pretty good - virtually no pics of on stripped down.

Jeep, fraud, etc, plenty.

For additional research, have a look over here, where some work has also been done on this.

Their search function is much worse than ours, but Google works better.
