2014 MN Triton 2.5D 4WD selector

Hi,
I have the 2014 MN Triton 2.5D with 4 speed auto (not super select 2 version).Does not have the vacuum servo disconnect on the front diff, so its always engaged spinning to the transfer box. When engaging 4H or 4Low, are the lights in the dash just an indicator that 4wd is engaged as it seems to be direct engagement from the gear lever. The lights no longer work, but wondering if there is any need to try fix them any way?

My 2012 MN does a similar thing, the 4wd indicator sometimes doesn't come on or is very dim. It won't affect the operation of the 4wd system.

Like you said it is a purely mechanical system, no electronic issues will prevent you engaging 4wd unlike the newer models.

One of the switches on the transfer case would probably be the culprit if you could be bothered fixing it.
