I run 245/75/16 Kelly AT's on my MN and after getting my lift done I'm pretty happy. I'm not sure if there is much difference between the MN and MQ though when it comes to specs? I'm happy with the Kelly's!

I have a NON-lifted mq triton and would like to know if I can upgrade to 245/75/17 tires, up from the standard 245/65/17 tires. Without the tires rubbing on the suspension, wheelguards, rubber flaps etc...
Or would the tire size of 245/75/17 require a lift kit to prevent rubbing? Does anyone run this size on a standard triton mq? Any advice greatly appreciated.

The tyres would fit fine I would imagine. It's usually going wider and taller that causes scrubbing. Only downside to 245/75r17 is that they are uncommon and when I was looking, every tire guy said I'd be struggling to find one outside a capital city. As you have an mq with 17's I'm assuming you have a gls or exceed and those stock rims are 7.5" wide. This allows you to fit 275/65r17's and they fit on mine no worries at all. (No lift but tjm outback bullbar made a little extra space) I think they would fit anyway

I agree with the comment above. I agonised on which size to go and I considered the 245/75r17 but could only find a couple of brands in this size. In addition, only one was the max legal size 800mm with the others ‘oversized’ at 805mm+. Now I’m not sure if the legal requirement is the theoretical size or actual but if it’s actual that left me with 1 brand to source in the bush to be legal (Toyo AT2).
In the end I went with 275/70r16 (a standard cruiser size) as my 17’s are 7” and too narrow for the 275/65r17.
I would have gone that size otherwise as that’s a standard patrol size.
Both of those would be easier to source than the 245/75r17’s.
