MQ Rear Diff Alignment

MQ Rear Diff Alignment

Postby todd_mq on Fri Mar 18, 2016 5:44 pm

after having a Lift installed today (spacer and shackle) I now have the issues of the rear diff movement. is now sitting noticeably further out to the left hand side now. however the MQ doesn't come from factory with a Rear panhard rod? I have been doing some searching online and the only answer I can find as far as fixing diff alignment is to install an adjustable panhard rod. is there another way to fix this issue on the MQ or is there a Kit to fit a parhard rod to the Rear of these?

cheers for the help

Take it back.
you should not need to adjust with a quality kit. Doesn't sound like it is installed correctly

I was under the assumption that the raise in body/suspension high will cause the move in the diff?
or is this not an issue with the triton due to no panhard? or is it just not an issue caused by just the shackle lift?

cheers

Panhard rods are used to support lifted coil sprung vehicles where there is no lateral support of the vehicle over the diff.
in a leaf sprung vehicle that lateral suppot is provided by the leaf spring.
By installing extended shackles you have changed the geometry of the set up allowing the body to move over the diff.
That is one of the reason extended shackles are illegal for road use in NSW.
Decent after market springs and standard lenght shackles will solve your problem cheaper than installing a panhard rod
