Whats your MQ fuel economy like

Averaged 9.6L/100km over just short of 5000km of outback NSW/QLD touring which included high speeds, low speeds, mud and stop start through hundreds of water crossings. Almost none of the distance was through towns or cities.

I found when averaging 90km/h my fuel consumption was around high 7'sL/100 and was over 10L/100km at 110km/h.

Just got a MQ duel cab with tray back bull bar and spotties . New 70-30 same size tyres running At 45psi and am getting a terrible 12 at 100 kph which is really 95 by gps.. Quite disappointed. So far other than the economy it's a nice ute.

Jerrah , it's open relatively flat terrain, fuel economy is going down a little as it gets a few ks on it ,but it's still way above the 8.7 I was getting out of my 2013 navara. It's at around 11 per hundred now if I reset it whilst doing 100 on flat terrain.

Just drove from wagga area to Port Macquarie, fairly loaded and towing an overweight 6x4 trailer (moving house). Averaged 9.9l/100ks as per trip computer. On refil I used 63l for around 650ks, which comes out as 9.69l/100ks. Sit between 8.3 & 9.5 on my drive to work now.

After 2,500k's I'm still getting 9.5/10's round town' or roughly 680/720k's before I need to fill up ;) 2wd auto drop side not really carrying anything and pretty much stock, was expecting better but I guess it's normal overall.

Stock glx auto dual cab with alloy tray empty 10.2 litre/hundred.

Stock glx manual dual cab with alloy tray empty 9.5.

Both mostly rural running/highway. Pretty disappointing really.

Im lucky if I get 11L/100km. Bigger tyres have made a big impact on economy. Also, when I have my roof cages and light bar on, I'm getting 12+.

I'll also add to my comment above: the bigger tyres have the speedo pretty much spot on. Having speedo's reading low is a nice little trick by manufacturers to trick the low fuel usage numbers.

Also, on our trip to Fraser Island, loaded with roof cages loaded and towing a camper trailer, we averaged around 19L/100km which included the 5 days on Fraser and the 2,600km round trip which was done mostly during the night and trying to keep a decent pace to shorten the travel time.

Due to speedo inaccuracy, you are probably only covering 94km of real distance to your fuel usage.

Nope. Whilst the speedo will over read your speed, the odometer is pretty accurate.

The speedo, odometer and trip meter all run off the same sensor mounted to your gearbox. 99% of modern vehicles are at least 5% out. It is the manufacturer's way of making their figures look good and stopping you from 'accidentally' speeding.
I own a 2015 MQ Triton,1998 Ford Falcon, 1986 Mitsubishi Sigma, 2016 Renault Master, 2008 Mercedes Benz Sprinter and 2013 Mitsubishi Fuso FK6 1024. All of them are inaccurate. The one nearest to being accurate is the good old Sigma .... because in the '80s these facts and figures weren't so important and because speeding wasn't headline news.

You are correct that speedos are calibrated so that the margin for error is all in overeadiing, as this is what is required by the ADRs.

You are wrong about the odometer. Whilst they use data from the same sensors, they are calibrated to read accurately with a plus/minus error margin, rather than overeading like the speedo.

I suggest you look up the relevant ADRs. It's all there in pretty simple language.

Have averaged a constant 9.2/9.5 over the 11000k speedo accuracy borders on
the 7/10% on anything over 90k I run an eds scan gauge in mine and the speed
reads less on the scan gauge than the speedo

Interestingly, the needle speedo on mine reads a couple of km/hr higher than my scanguage reads, but the scanguage is the same as the digital speed displayed when I set the speed limiter. All are higher than the actual speed from a gps, although of course the difference is less than it was with the smaller standard sized tyres.

Having only done 4,100klm it's averaged 9.0 to 10.0L/100 - all rural town/highway with a/c on most days lately.
It's a 2016 GLS Auto, stock with no tarp or lid so assume has some drag ? , and factory rims Bridgestone AT's @ 34psi to absorb some of the bumps & vibrations etc..

So looking at a Ultimate Susp mod, until then about to put 100 kilo or so in the back - hopefully that will help the ride slightly and no doubt bump the above consumption figures up too.

I live in townsville, flew down to brisbane on thursday 13/4 to buy my new glx+ auto and on the drive home i got 920 klms with 70klms left in the tank and it took 67.78 litres to fill. I was shocked. This is the best i have got out of any car i have ever owned.

I drove from Urana to Albury yesterday and on the plains at 80Kmh by the gps in 6th, reset the trip computer and got*5.5L/100Km*.
Then a guy with an oversize load came up behind me and I sped up - no point torturing some bloke doing a days work:)
I was one up, no tarp on the tub, 3/4 of a long range tank.
Usually I get mid to high 7's. I am pretty impressed.
