choosing between 2 micron filter kits.

choosing between 2 micron filter kits.

Postby AlexMQ on Thu Dec 21, 2017 12:10 am

gday i've read the other posts about fuel filters it has helped me settle on the secondary setup as opposed to the primary.

i've got my eye on two different sellers selling what appears to be the same kit just a fair price difference. I was hoping people might be able to point me in the right direction.

This is the first kit for $355 https://www.dieselcare.com.au/product/f ... it-dcs034/

this is the second kit for $275 https://www.baileysdiesel.com/shop/filt ... 4n15-2-4l/

Another option was to use western filters and see if they can swap filters they are $338. i bought the pro vent catch can from them.

Iam not opposed to the more expensive kits if this is what is best but $80 bucks is $80 bucks.

Thanks.

Same filter casing possibly different mounting kits. You can use different micron filters sized for pre or post

We recommend running a pre-filter, as the idea of running one is to catch water and other material you don't want hitting your fuel rails.

Our logic is that if the factory filter is the last filter, then there will never be an uncomfortable warranty discussion about bad fuel...

We only supply the Mann Hummel Inline 150, which comes with inbuilt water sensor, etc.

At this stage, we don't cater to the Triton though.

I know running a supplementary filter before the standard one is to alleviate dealership issues but from an engineering perspective, it is kind of stupid.

I'd rather have 2 micron filter downstream of the 10 micron original.
The voices in my head may not be real, but they do have some damned good ideas.
