MQ triton fuel pump question

MQ triton fuel pump question

Postby Robvenning on Wed Sep 07, 2022 5:52 am

Gday,

Does the MQ have an electric fuel pump? or does the engine driven pump do all the work?
I've been getting some stalling issues where i've had to prime the engine to get it started again. It smells like it could be a faulty fuel pump.

If so where is it and how difficult would it be to replace?
Ive also had a rough idle that comes and goes for a couple of years now.

Cheers

here is no electric pump in the system.

If there is a need to reprime to start the vehicle, then it is likely to be an air leak into the system before the pump.

The fuel filter housing is most likely cause. They dont fail, its just that they need to be assembled with care and lubrication (diesel fuel) on the seals when fitting a new filter.

When tightening, there are 2 marks on the body that denote when its in the correct position
