Site restored

Postby Dave on Wed Jan 17, 2024 9:24 pm

Hi everyone,

Apologies for the delay in restoring the site, I have been away and I never received any notification that there was an attack on the site happening which resulted in the site being automatically shut down to safeguard the server, looking into a way so that notifications are properly sent when this happens.

We are back up and running, which is the main thing.

Hope you all had a great Christmas and new years!

Cheers, Dave

Season's Greetings Dave.

Yeah was a bit concerned, esp seeing Hilux was down also.

Thought you'd won lotto and moved OS. lol

Thanks Dave.

Did you upset someone? Two DoS attacks on two sites in the space of a few weeks. :(

Hi Rob, I never saw any issues with the Hilux site, strange. They really tried hard, it's happening to many sites, these people must be bored. I am looking at implementing some better protection.

NFT nope  Surprised I wasn't alerted or notified by anyone, I always keep an eye on my emails where possible if i'm away.

Cheers guys

Spamming, hacking and fraud in general has gone berserk.

It's gotten to the point where you've got to let just about all calls go to voice mail to vet em.

DoS attacks are a hard one to deal with unfortunately.

At least you're back.

Check your phone messages and my post in the Mods section over at NewHilux.

Lots of fairly robust stuff out there that will deal with light to moderate attacks. Talk to Geek. He's a master on this.
