Tapatalk 2 released

Postby Dave on Fri Apr 13, 2012 1:46 am

Hi all,

Tapatalk just announced they have released version 2 which comes with a much better / modern interface and is a free upgrade for existing tapatalk users!

Free Upgrade
All your existing Tapatalk users can receive free upgrade to Tapatalk 2 from Google and Amazon App Store. No strings attached.

New Interface and New Platform
Say good-bye to antique interface, Tapatalk 2 re-invented a new way to navigate forums on Android, enticing loyal members to crank up their post count while on-the-go. Works great on Android 4.0 and Kindle Fire

Account Sync
Tapatalk 2 syncs forum accounts among their mobile devices - it means your forum will show up on every device they use. Works on iPad, iPhone, Android phone, tablets and BlackBerry.

I have it on Android 4 and it is a much cleaner & pretty interface.

Much snappier and they fixed all the repeated emoticons and is a complete set now too. 8-)

Doesn't seem to be as many force closes when pictures are involved so far.
I'm not so good with the advice  ... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment???

really... first use of the 2.0 version and i went to alco's '4 is better then 3' thread and bam! forced close. I use to get them continually on the last version of tapatalk, and to get one stright up on the new version annoys me, whats more is it asks you to email the error report instead of just automagically submitting it like the old verson. These closures are enough to make me use the full site on my gallaxy s2

Is this version different to the current iOS app or should we expect a new one too?

I think ios just updated not long ago, at least mine did.

This brings android very similar to the ios version.

Well so much for a quick reboot! It's taken me all day to work out which one of the hundreds of apps I've installed is causing a boot loop!

Does anyone have issues sending PM's via tapatalk... Mine just seem to sit in the outbox (in the browser) for ages and doesnt show up in the sent items on tapatalk? Or is it meant to do that? Lol

Has anyone using tapatalk 2.0 (for Android) noticed that new posts are not being marked as read automatically after you read them ?

I was looking at new messages and thought - geeze the boys & girls have been busy ... I had 1000 unread messages :?

I have been through the settings but haven't found anything yet ...

There was a forum update I believe (I suddenly had 1000+ unread topics  )

My read topics are vanishing from the unread list but the old style used to time them out like the new post list. I think this was one of the changes.

Tapatalk on my phone is stuck saying 1000 unread.
Maybe thats a limit of the app though and I have more than 1000 unread.
I just fixed it by selecting "mark forum read" from the options.
Hopefully i won't miss threads now if the time out has been removed 8-)

We recently got a similar problem on iOS devices. I just hit the button to mark everything as read and after that it behaved normally again.
