Found a great little site to resize your photos for the forum avatars, etc.

To save a double upload, open the image in paint > ctrl+w >enter 25% for height and width and save the image... usually produces images of ~100kb and 768x576 pixles down from the 1.5Mb and 3072x2304 pixles original...

Yep, that'll do it.. can be a pain for those who are computer illiterate.

Another handy one is there is a program you can download from microsoft called Powertoys Image Resizer, found here http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... ySetup.exe

Install this and you will then be able to right click your files and have an option to resize pictures, very simple to use and is a much quicker way for several photos at once.

I forgot about that one Dave - I have Vista and it doesn't compute but certainly a worthwhile addition to XP

For those thinking of downloading it - once installed, it embeds itself in the "right click" drop down menu... Simply highlight the pic/s you want to resize, right click and select 'resize'... You will be given options as to which size you want with general descriptions of what size works where... Make your choice, click 'OK' and the resized pics will appear in the folder with the originals - same file name but followed by "(small)" so you know which is which...

G'day Sportero

It's not just the file size that needs to be changed, but also the physical size
You can resize the file using Outlook, but the actual image size can be done with Microsoft viewer.
Click "edit image" and chose the % size you want and it will show the new size of the image. It needs to be
max 110x 110 pixles
Hope this helps

Try this link:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/Downloads/powertoys/Xppowertoys.mspx
Once loaded, just right click the image then select resize pictures.
I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal labotomy!

It ain't pretty being easy!!

Sportero,
If you want you can PM me your Newtriton login details and email me the pics you want, and I will have a go for you.
I done this for another member a while ago, as they couldnt get their pics up either.

is it possible to put captions on the pics through the site, or is it best done through other software?

Yes, but the feature is only available to Platinum Subscribers, otherwise you will have to use other software.
