Chat Bar and New Group Chat

As you may all be aware, Dave has installed a new feature which is being trialled here at NewTriton. This in the form of a chat bar with special features at the bottom of your browser window, it gives you access to one on one chat and also to the group chat plus many many features.

Last night a new upgrade to the Chat bar was installed by Dave and it seems to have fixed a few of the niggly concerns which were apparent in group chat. Emoticons are now available as well as some other cool features in group chat, we also hope that the stability and speed issues have been resolved.

Just an update on the new Chat Bar setup, I will be changing the way how the "Who's Online" list works.

Effective from tonight onwards, it will only show your "Friends" on the Chat Bar instead of EVERYONE across the entire site. This is a change that will hopefully help reduce the server load. If it proves to not make too much of a difference then I will most likely open it back up to show all users in the near future.

To add a user as your Friend, you simply need to view their profile and click "Add Friend"
