Welcome to the site Terry.

Any brand of car has its problems ....

The Triton is no different, if you are buying new then you will have warranty, sometimes this needs to be insisted but generally very good in getting problems fixed.

I have heard the 2013 models are better in a few areas than the 2012 model.

There are cures for the turbo lag, checkout 'Chipit' in the sponsors area.

Hi Terry,

Although I own a Challenger my search for a fourby started with the Triton and wandered through various Toyotas, Nissans etc before i settled. I did a heap of research on this and other forums before making the decision. If you look for the bad here and elsewhere you will turn yourself off the Mitsubishi. I can confidently say the same re any other brand or model. All have good and bad points.

What I have learnt here is that the Mits are unbelievable value at some of the current prices and are very competent on and off road even in stock form. The sky is the limit if you start modifying

Also, the guys and gals on here are a great bunch. Except watch out for Tim007  I never thought I would be heading up for a beach adventure in a couple of weeks with my kids in tow with a 10-15 other members that I have never met.

Just buy it, you won't regret it one bit.

Go into user control panel (link at top left) then choose the profile tab and then on the left there are a couple of options one of which is edit avatar. Once there you need to upload the image you want but note that it has to be unusually small - 150 pixes x 150 pixels and about 96kb is the limit.

Hi All

Just purchased a 2007 ML Triton and have been busily searching the forum for tips and tricks on various topics. One thing I can't seem to figure out is how to display a search that contains both words. If I do a search on +replace +tub (I did find this in the directory eventually) it brings up any posts/topics that contain either word.

Look forward to contributing once I have half a clue.. :D

Cheers

Hmmmm, seems that that is because there are no posts, except for yours, above, that actually have both those words. You may have to think of other terms that might describe what you're after. For example, "remove tub", "tub tray" and so on. Search doesn't use fuzzy logic like Google so it won't find "replacement" if you only told it to look for "replace. You'd have to use "replace*"

Keep practicing and post up if you have any more questions. Lots here willing to help. ;)

Also tub is going to cause issues as it's too short. Maybe "tub swap" in the inverted commas? I should check before making suggestions as that could prove useless.

Also if you read the search guide it talks about how you can get google to search the forum for you - I sometimes do that if I'm having trouble finding something obscure.

Edit - tub swap worked: http://www.newtriton.net/phpbb/search.php?keywords=%22tub+swap%22&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=all&sr=posts&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search

Didn't you need to order the 'luxury pack'? There is a thread somewhere outlining the spec for the new models

Welcome markby 8-)

Lots of information on this forum, a good place to start is the forum directory if you are looking for something specific.

The members build thread is quite interesting and shows you how to install the various mods people do to their Triton's.

Hi people ,
Newbie here
Picked myself up a 2008 vr double cab 4wd diesel yesterday. I had a guy from proview vehicle inspections do an inspection on it and he came up with x2 minor problems (I think?? I'm Not mechanically minded in any sense !!) water pump needs to be replaced along with the drive belts- no biggy I hope ?? Any one no how much I'd be up for ?? I live in Wollongong NSW.
Also noticed a steering rattle?? When it was cold -after I had driven it around 20 ks it seemed to tighten up - any ideas??
Also how to I go about fitting sports bars to it ?? It has a hard cover at the moment- can I cut the cover around the bars ??
Thanks for any help or suggestions you may have !!!!
