Hi to all at NEWTRITON.NET, my name is Jason and live at Coolum Beach on Queenslands Sunshine Coast. My wife Tammy and I have ordered a new 09 GLX-R 3.2ltr Dual Cab in gunmetal grey which we hope to take possession of sometime this week. We are extremely excited as it is the first time we have ever bought new, it is also new ground for me as I have always driven Toyota's, Tam drives a 2003 toyota tarago and I currently drive an 89 troopcarrier which has been an absolute phenomanal vehicle but unfortunately it is showing its age and becoming unreliable. This is where our story starts and has led me to find this fantastic site, allow me to fill you in if you dont mind. I have had my heart set on a hilux for quite a while and with the governments rebate offer on new cars we decided to go for it, and thats when our dealings with toyota went a little pear shaped. Basically Toyota dealerships think their shit dont stink and that their product is unrivalled by any other, how wrong they are, Tam suggested we take a look at the triton and well the rest is history, Toyota simply was out classed in all area's as far as we were concerned from the product to price, from warranty to service Mitsubishi shit all over them. we even got a phone call today from Mitsi Australia to congratulate us on our purchase and that they will be sending us out a gift for choosing their Triton. Maybe all manufacturers do this Im not sure but we were impressed all the same.
Wont babble on to much more just thought I would share our story as to why we bought a Triton and thats why we have found NEWTRITON.NET, we look forward to chatting with you all into the future.
Cheers Jason (mongo), Tammy, Avani-Rose (our 5 month old baby girl) and Narla (7 year old Border Collie). :D

There are a lot of members that have the genuine canopy and have no problems. actually i think its only one that has had a lemon (mantis)

search canopys using the searh tool and you will find numerous threads to read

Mongo, Nothing like the thrill of a new ute mate... Hope you and the family have many great miles and good times.... And no normally a fruit basket or gift is not standard with the purchase... :D

Welcome - I'm new to this game also only registered last week.
This site rocks with all sorts of great stuff to learn about the car.
1st week I had the car we took in camping with the kids -your family will enjoy it. Forget the Hilux, the triton is tough and has probably saved you 10-15000. Money you can spend on the mods. I've just upgraded the suspension - seems to be a must with this car as the supplied shocks are are bit light on. I'm looking at tyres and a snorkel next.
Good to chat - cheers Dbatz

Hi mad992, mate the Triton is awesome words cant explain its our first new car which makes it even more exciting for us, we picked him up (yep this ones a boy) Wed arvo this week from crickys @ Nambour. Will probably do a photo shoot this weekend and then do up a shed profile. If you are ever keen to go for a drive up the beach or somewhere and you want some company we would be keen to tag along. Not quite ready for beach work yet but definately will in the future. Notice you are keen on motox do you have a bike, I used to ride in Coffs Harbour but sold the bike 91 RMX250 when we moved up here would love to get another, one of these days.
Cheers Mate Mongo.
