No he had a weird looking thing that had alloy tubes but was bigger, sort of like a bullbar I guess but it wasn't too pretty.

The factory alloy bar is a bit different. Not too sure on the fitment, it will be a different proposition to a nudge bar I would think, because it has to follow the lines of the front of the vehicle more than what the nudge bar does.

Ahhh he's got one of those fugly looking things. I seen a car with that on it and felt like chasing the driver down to slap him.
I tried searching ages ago about fitting the ML bar, but picking the right keywords for search was a nightmare. I might just leave it if there's too much stuffing around, I've got my genuine nudge bar on so I'm happy with that. Just got really antsy when I seen a genuine alloy bar for $350 with brackets.... :o

See if you can find a buildup by mooons. Hope he had one. He originally had the genuine alloy bar on his.

Hi Guys, First post here. Has anyone managed to mount spotties on the lower horizontal bar of a nudge bar?
Would this be legal to weld mounting tabs or bolt a flat ally plate behind the lower bar to attach spotties?

Yeah a few people have done it mate. I'll have a think and see if I can remember who though.

Keep in mind that the lower you go the less likely you are to get good range from the lights.

Copying this here from a random questions thread in the hope it can be found more easily later:

I've just bought a Nudge Bar to suit a MN Triton from Gumtree.

It has the mounting brackets, but is anyone able to tell me what bolts are supplied from Mitsubishi?

The person I bought it from could not recall where they had put the bolts.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Nerdy,

I just finished an install on this myself.

Factory supplied bolts include
- 4x30mm M10 High Tensile (8.8) Bolts to fix bracket to chasis + 4x Spring washers + 2x nuts
- 4x35mm M10 High Tensile (8.8) Bolts to fix bar to bracket + 4x Spring washers and 4x washers and nuts

Just to add to the above post - I contacted Northside Fasteners who sent me the bolts needed, in separate sealed and labelled bags, via next day express courier for $28.

MN Nudge bar installation instructions

Postby Big Kev on Sun Mar 01, 2015 1:44 pm

Hi all. I have managed to source a 2nd hand nudge bar but I don't believe i have all the bits. I don't even know if this is a genuine bar or aftermarket. The bar is self explanatory but I have 2 brackets and a range of nuts, bolts and even a couple of screws supplied with the bar. I suspect i may have some bits from something else chucked into the mix. I have figured 4 bolts, nuts and washer sets for mounting bar onto the brackets and have found 2 different length bolts and larger washers that thread into a pre existing thread on the chassis rail. However, I don't know if the bolt lengths are important and need to go on the correct side and I feel that there should be another pair of bolts that hold the brackets to the chassis rail. There is an elongated hole on the brackets that lines up with an equivalent hole on the chassis rail but cant figure how a bolt would fit. Does anyone have fitting instructions or can lead me down the right path? Any help would be appreciated. If someone has instructions, could you email to kevandwen@gmail.com if you think it is the same setup. Thanks heaps.

Thanks to whoever moved my post to this thread. I see that cowboy dave/waz123/nerdy have contributed to the right bolts to use. The bits I have do not have any nyloc nuts and wondering if I should get all new bolts and nuts (and use nyloc instead of standard) for the fit. I am a little confused as to the bracket to chassis setup. 4 bolts and 2 nuts? I am guessing I use the built in chassis nuts for 2 of the bolts but the other 2 bolts and nuts have to somehow fit in an elongated hole in the chassis rail. How does this bolt setup work? Are people putting the head of the bolt with a washer to fill the gap into the hole and then fixing the bracket to the "stud"? Seems a bit wrong. This is the bit that is throwing me, how to mount the rear elongated chassis holes to bracket bolts.

I have NFI to be honest. Took mine off years ago.

However, here's a link to the fitting instructions for an aftermarket nudge bar. Not sure how close it is to what you have but it may still provide a clue or two.

I used Nylock on mine, I figured it wouldn't hurt. If I remember, I'll take some pics of the mounting points and upload them tomorrow for you mate.

Nyloc may be overdoing it if you're using spring washers too, but better safe than sorry,

Thanks cowboy dave. Found those instructions on my original travels but i appreciate your efforts. My bracket looks more like a rectangular block about 6 inches long and 4 inches deep at a guess with mounting plates each side of it. Thanks Nerdy, that would be great if you get the chance.

Is there a Nudge Bar similar to this members that has spotlight mounts on the bottom bar ( as pictured ) or is there a way of mounting them like this ?

The lower you mount them the less useful they'll be in terms of range I would have thought. You would have to either drill the alloy, weld some tabs on or use clamp on mounts.

Ah , no worries fellas , thanks for the replies .. I'm actually finding it quite difficult to find a nudge bar that i like, some are 2" some are 3" , and then when you look at the front on , some of the lines they take ( following the contours of the car ) are just way off...

Okay, I've been looking around at Nudge Bars , and it seems there is a few differences in Size, Thickness, length ...( No I'm not Gay, i got rid of the Toyota ) between makers of these bars.

I have edited a few pics , which i hope will upload ( i just installed drop box , and this is the first time posting a pic ) in the hope that someone can point me in the right direction.

Mainly the makers of these bars are in the eastern states, and I'm in SA, so its a little difficult to compare , and in saying that everyone you ring , simply tells you their product is the best , the others are inferior, blah blah blah , ( you get the picture ) so...

Can you tell me who makes a bar like this one ( Highly Polished, 3 inch "76mm" diameter , is the full length of the bottom grill, and uses the lines of the grill

Compared to other makers where they look like this ,

I've edited your image links but they're still not displaying on the forum for me. You have to drop the s off https, which I've done for you, but I wonder if the images are not in a 'public' folder on Dropbox which is the other requirement?

Anyway I reckon the bar you've said you want is the genuine Mitsubishi bar. Hard to pick from just a photo and all but that's my first impression. They are 76mm stock and can be highly polished.

Also there's a couple on ebay now which may give you an idea if you look. The mcc branded one looks pretty similar in its lines from looking on ebay too. They come up for sale on Facebook pretty frequently as people upgrade to bullbars so it's worth keeping an eye out there.
