news travels quick in this town. TJM rang me this morning about my post and it wasnt a nice call.

After the way he spoke to me, I wont be buying anything there any more. Thanks for who ever that was, you have grossly misrepresented my post and upset them. No sweat to me, but they have lost another customer. Well done who ever you are. Makes me wonder what sort of forum this is :?:

Does anyone know if there are any companies that make/or are looking to make (if even possible) a canopy that fits on the tray while the sports bars are still attached?

I want to get a canopy but the mrs wants to keep the sports bars on, so the minister of finance wins for the moment

i have the razorback and can tell you it is great. HOWEVER, be very careful who installs it as i have not seen one installed properly yet, except mine (now, finally) and they lifted the tub up about 15mm to do it. othewise they are too close to the cab.

auto remote locking/unlocking is the best........... :D :D :D :D

The remote locking is a big plus.. but the stuff i did read (im guessing it was your thread?) about the canopy rubbing has really turned me off them! (and personally im not a huge fan of the look of them)
which is why Im leaning towards the factory fitted.. as really.. I just want it to carry my dogs around in and my riding gear to horse comps.
But then I wont have remote locking... :|

I love the factory tool box, Fits great, locks , looks cool, fits all my shit inside, Leaves enough room for my Labradoodle. .. Its got some neat little dividers in there too for small tools..

One thing i did notice about my factory cannopy is that its lined with nice padded material where as an arb for example is just white fibreglass

Hey GLXR Alex,

am interested in your factory canopy.

It looks like its the Trade style to me from your pics is that right?

Is your Triton an MN ?

Any chance of a side on photo? is the install such as you could remove the canopy relatively easily if needed?

Also lots of guys here are talking about the quality of install of the canopy, what are the issues I need to be aware of when sorting an install, where do they stuff up?

Hi guys,
Newbie to the forum after just placing deposit on MN GLX-R and doing the exercise of looking at canopies before the order is finalised. I had originally spec'ed the order for an ARB one, but now changed it to Carryboy after seeing the supplier just up the road. The carryboys are really well finished... but you pay the price.
The guy told me $3350 plus $50 to fit. They have a container coming in, but the only guy who knows what's in it was in a meeting so waiting to hear if they are coming before or after I pick up the new beast in December. They come with carpet lining, internal light, slam-lock locking system, LED brake lights in spoiler, roof rails for loads up to 85Kgs, lifetime warranty on structural integrity & paint finish. Once you add the internal bracing and bars to an ARB, it's not really that much in it in pricing ($1700 for carry bar kit???), put Mr. Rudd's big carrott into the deal and the gap closes a bit more. I figure if I'm going to hold onto it for a while I might as well bite the bullit.

Cheers,
MN GLXR

Had the new factory canopy fitted last week, after waiting a few months for delivery, and it looks great. Shall put up some photos when I sort out the process. It appears that the references to central locking can't be adapted to it though, as I have just had a close look at the locking handle. It is lined with fabric, and sliding windows at the front and sides. The downside is that it does not have interior lights, or tint as standard. The sticker on the back indicates that it has a maximum load of 50kgs on the roof. Will try for the pics.

I think this thread needs some more pics ast the title suggests:

My current favoured choice would be :

Not sure if anyone has one, mainly see razorback in this style, which I'm wary of unfortunately.

After reading the pros and cons of many of the other brands, I just went around to to look at the Carryboy Canopy in Hoppers Crossing (Vic) as I have one on order to come with my truck. Though a bit pricey, they come with the sliding front windows for which the locks can be changed to open from the wind down rear window of the cabin.
As for the sliding side windows, the back one is a standard catch lock on the inside but the front one is keyed and can be opened from outside to gain access to the front of the tray without needing to climb in (should you need to access your recovery gear to pull out a Nissan or Toyota).
Comes standard with the roof rails and LED brake lights in the spoiler, carpet interior with flouro dome light and can be integrated into the central locking system (though they don't do this themselves).
They have a container coming in late December so it would be early-mid Jan before they start getting installed on the new MN as they require a few weeks to ensure of stock and arrange painting. Will post pix when I finally get my new beast.
