Is 4wdsupplies still the place to get the SPV plug in mod? Seems to have disappeared off their site!

Just a temporary issue after a shipment disappeared. I gather more are on their way.

With all the cold weather over your way. The EGR valve won't be working much anyway.

I used the 12k method using resistors. It's worked for over a year now with no egr activation and no negative side effects. I went with this option as I emailed about the SV mod being shipped to the UK but never got a reply. Seems I saved a fair bit of money and given that our summer and winter temperature ranges aren't as big as you guys I can't see why it won't continue to work for years to come.

Absolutely. given that its exactly the same procedure. a simple resistor.

Can anyone please tell me if it is necessary to remove the resistor mod before an SQL service?

Not strictly necessary but if you're giving it to a dealership it is probably a good idea anyway, in my view at least.

Thanks CD its not a dealership so I'll leave it in. Same question applies to removal of chip which I figured I should.

Yeah best to remove the chip rather than have it interfere with the SQL.

Exactly. Interesting to see that with all the recent discussion on this mod you've managed to totally ignore the advice given on how to do it properly.

There are two sensors. The one that you're talking about as reading 41degC is further downstream. The sensor that's combined with the MAF doesn't register on most scangauges - you'll need a high end scanner to actually see the output from it. The mod doesn't increase fuel consumption, if anything it seems to improve. Remember that this is a diesel not a petrol and that making the mix richer isn't the solution. Even on a petrol, the mixture will be controlled by input from engine temperature, not ambient air temperature.

hay I have a 2014 nm triton and keen to isolate the egr wondering if this solution will work with my ute? cheers

Resistor makes egr blank redundant.

Hi guys I have the older tony mod with the on/off switch and have noticed lately that the egr is opening up again probably due to the higher temps. It has an adjustable screw. anyone know how to adjust it so the egr doesn't open?
