No they're not long enough to reach the plug so I'll just insulate them.

Thanks for the help.

I'll have a chat to Mitsubishi tomorrow and see if I can buy the individual looms, which I doubt but no harm in trying. Otherwise I'll just run my own power from the front and plug into the red and white. Thanks for your help! And a great forum too!

Did you end up running your own power? I just bought a bar from a wreckers on ebay but the car is no longer available for the other 2 harnesses. Interested to hear what you did about this if a new cable from the battery did the job? Thank you

There's a thread around somewhere where a guy made up his own harness - would be worth checking out
The Hitchhiker's guide to the the Triton universe and NTN.

A how to on finding your own way - search me.

The two threads I wish people would use more: thing 1 and thing 2.

If it's just a matter of a couple wires for power and earth then I won't go into making everything like the other post. Just wanting to know what others have done cheers

You just need to run a fused power supply from the battery to the relays.
I just earthed to the chassis and it works fine, but as suggested to me you could also run a second tail to earth on the tub as well, just to be sure.

Amazing what pain manufacturers cause for the sake of saving 20cents per unit!

The actual tow bar harness is a reasonable bit of kit, but I just couldn't get over the backyard looking result you end up with at the kick panel and battery end when I did mine.

If I'd bee aware of the process, prior to install, I would have run a substantial power and earth directly between the battery and trailer loom - would offer much better set up.

Hey Guys,

just getting around to an electric brake controller install,
where can I get a spare pin to insert the blue wire into the triangular plug?

Wow, I know this is an old tread but it saved me scratching my head wondering why I couldn't get my second hand towbar brake & tail lights to work on my MN. I started investigating the wire bridges under the bonnet and passenger side panel (what a stupid stupid idea to leave a section out).
Anyway after reading the tribulations people were having trying to connect the top plug I decided that since I already had my tray wired with an anderson plug I used this to power the relays running the wire under my drawers to the front of the tray, down the weep holes and back along the wiring loom to the trailer harness. 15 minutes and it was all working after spending hours trying to work out the problem.
Great job all.

I just recently help install the wiring harness on my son's new MR. They now wire from the relay/rear harness plugs directly up to the battery alkng the chassis. No more having to remove interior covers, etc.

Good soln there guz.
