a 50/50 blend of gear box oil and engine oil

5w 30 engine oil
75-85 gear oil

prior to doing this it just had the stock oil from factory

in my case it was fine when warmed up and the oil had thinned out a bit, but when cold I couldn't go from 3rd to second without a bit of persuasion, quite a bit ! with the thinner blend " added engine oil "I havnt had an issue, this was done by the Mitsubishi

I had that issue snake. Mine was also very noisy so they pulled the box and replaced all bearings at 120,000

good to see a lot out there with no issues cause I'm at the point where I trade or keep it and run it into the ground. mmmm :?:

My 2013 MN is on 105K with no issues. Plenty of highway kms.

It's an auto and was stalling randomly when cold but the recent 90/105k service and timing belt has fixed that. They reckon it was the fuel filter and carbon buildup in the manifold. Going to the Cape in a week so we'll see if it's still got no issues when I get back.

2009 Dec mn glxr auto, 120k with no issue, however reading all this it makes you feel like your driving a ticking time bomb.
As above do you trade in, spend more on mods or run into the ground. Being out of warranty and doesnt sound like they will cover out of warranty leaves a sour taste in your mouth. If only we knew the exact amount of new motors (outside the forum aswell) and specific build dates at least we could make a decision.

I sold my 09 GLR man with 154,000 for $20k on eBay. Took roughly 6 weeks. Very clean and tidy.

One of my leading hands just sold his 4.2l 82 GQ roughly 500,000km. Body rested to pieces, holes in the floor, interior trashed, motor smoking for $5400. Took 2 days

2010 MN GLX-R with 164000. I bought it at 68000, have no idea if cooling campaign was done. Have had surging issue a few times. Fixed that once with a dealer manifold clean, second time with a few cans of liqui-moly down the throttle body.

Only other problem I had was when she wouldn't engage 4wd. Because I smashed the actuator.... Although the solenoid also failed at the same time which made fault finding interesting.

Still happy with my bus. Get's mid to high 10l/100km although she does a lot of miles at 110kmh.

Yep
Purchased a heavily modified MN GLXR, 9000km for $38,000.
Insured for $54,000.
Only had to add draws to bring it up to my old one. Plus it has extras on top, stereo, mags

Tax.
Accountant told me it was now a tax liability. Time to get something else.

Was looking around o buy something. Was in no hurry. Hadn't decided on brand or anything but I wanted an auto. Never owned an auto in 34 years of driving.
Anyway the new one come up around the corner so I went to have a look at what was available for the price.
Manual hmmmmm
Looked it over. 10 min later brain is saying you want an auto but mouth is making an offer which he accepted.
Went home and told the missus I had accidentally bought another car. She looked at me and said this should be a good story.
