I am fed up with the Stealers charging for services & warranty that they don't provide.
Example: I took my current Triton in for a service and was charged for a new Fuel filter. But when I got home I checked under the hood & although the oil filter & air cleaner were new the fuel filter was still covered in water stains & dust.
I contacted the dealer & was told that those water stains & dust on the filter could have happened after I left the workshop and there was nothing I could do about it.
Now, I live just over five minutes away & it was a 35 degree day with not a cloud in sight.. They said that if I wanted they would replace the filter again but I would have to pay for it again. From now on I am making a note of numbers & marking everything beforehand & telling the dealer when I drop it off for a service. Maybe then they will do what they are supposed to.
When I had my old ML Triton & just before it ran out of warranty I asked could they adjust the valves because they were extremely rattly & that one valve was sticking when the engine was cold. But the Dealer said no they all sound like that & there is nothing wrong with them.
6 months later with the vehicle now out of warranty I took it in for a service and got a phone call later that day & was told that the valves were very noisy and that one or two sounded like they were sticking & they needed to be adjusted immediately (at a large extra cost of course).
But they sounded no different to when I had asked them to be adjusted under warranty. That made me so mad and I told them I would get them done somewhere else. They did not appreciate this which made me feel a bit better.
I believe that the car industry is the most dishonest industry there is. They rip you off with Trade-ins, all new vehicles are overpriced, then they try to sell you overpriced "snake oil" products like paint protection etc on top of that. Then they take you to the cleaners when it comes to warranty and services.
And Mitsubishi wonder why some people go elsewhere for services.
