Cruise Control Cancelling & Dash Backlight Illuminating

After replacing the driver’s side brake light, the following behaviors occurred:

- Cruise control would immediately disengage when the headlights are on (but works when headlights off)
- Pressing the brake pedal causes the instrument cluster backlight to illuminate, even when headlights are not on

Removing the new bulb resolved both these issues. Vehicle is a 2012 MN Triton GLX-R.

Obviously, I got the wrong globe. The marking on the bulb is MaxiLite 12V 21/5W H19 (I think this is Narva). What brake light bulb should I have put in the Triton?

That is the correct bulb. Was it in correctly orientated?

I have seen new bulbs faulty before, the contact being shorted internally. This has caused a similar problem.
