Low range boost

Postby Probz on Sat May 02, 2020 4:45 pm

I've been looking into either getting a tune or reduction gears to make up for the loss of power in my MN from putting on 32" tyres with steelies because on steep tech climes the motor seems to stall out and just doesnt seem to have the torque to move it without too much clutch slip.

However today I noticed in low range 1st, even at 3000rpm on flat and hills its only reading 110kpa on my map sensor so basically no boost at all then in second about 130kpa. Is the boost limited in low range to protect the drivetrain from the torque or is something else going on?

By setting up a manual control set up on an MN could you get it to make boost in low range even if it is limited or would this be a bad idea because the ecu wouldn't see the need for extra fuel?

Just really trying to sus out any other avenues that might help out under $1500 haha and I don't want to redo the diffs again because I've already installed a front lokka twice and a rear ML LSD once so Im kind of over diffs at the moment.

Cheers,
