MN door lock actuator failures

Postby Jonesnp81 on Thu Jul 02, 2020 9:15 pm

Hi all, have had my second door lock actuator fail on a MN Triton - starting to become a costly exercise. First one put down to being unlucky now another has failed. Anyone else had this on MN?
Cheers

First thing that comes to mind is, how is your vehicle being treated compared to mainstream?

Is it on the same door?

Is there evidence of weather getting into door cavity, faulty weather strip at base of window?

Has the lock controlller been checked? Maybe holding power on too long.

Touch wood - the ole ML is 12yrs old and never had an issue with the locks.
Don't let the b'strds get you down!!

Had a 2010 MN for 10yrs. Did Cape York, Gibb River Road etc. Never had a problem but did have to replace battery in the key once when doors would not open.

148k on the clock, very well looked after/maintained. First to ok was rear driver side. Now rear passenger side.
When the rear driver side was replaced the internal door skin wrap appeared to have been off before but have owned since new and never had it off to my knowledge.

Seems strange that 2 have failed, could understand one going but now a second, seems fishy.
