4wd shifter won't move after new clutch install

Hi guys, I installed a new clutch in my 2008 3.2l triton. After reinstalling the box the 4wd shifter won't move. I pulled the shifter back out and can't even move the selecter with a screw driver. I have driven forwards backwards all while holding pressure on the shifter with no luck. I have jacked up the rear and front to make sure there's no load on anything and still nothing. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?

Just incase anybody searches this same issue... I was able to fix it by taking the cover plate off the top of the transfer case where the shifters go through and insert a 1/2 inch extension bar into the slot on the selector and pop it out of 4wd.
