gearbox rattle

hi fellas,when i accelerate my gear stick rattlesand makes anoise ,if its in neutral and you move it from side to side ,that clicking noise is the sound.If when accelerating and it rattles ,if i hold the gear stick it stops .My mechanic thinks its a bush and that theres too much play in the box.I have a mn triton manual 102,000 ks and 3 months out of new car warranty.Any thoughts please Thanks

never guess what it was ,when you unscrew the knob theres a plastic clip thats was rattling ,its for the knob to grab on to when tightening it ,just moved it further down the stick and retightened.
