MN egr cooler

Postby neilyboy on Sat Sep 04, 2021 4:56 pm

Hi guys,
I've just been reading up about EGR cooler problems and that you can blank it off. 2 questions, is it just blanking the cooler and what effect does it have on the EGR?
Thanks in advance.

Blanking off the Exhaust gas or the cooling side?

Just block it. I blanked off the EGR solenoid at the rear, deleted the pipe from solenoid to cooler, deleted the pipe from cooler to manifold, removed cooler completely and bridged the coolant lines with 5/8 water/oil hose from Supercheap & double clamped it.

Carry out the ET modification with a 6K8 resistor into the MAF and you'll never look back (holds throttle body wide open 24/7) ~

No CEL, no limp, no codes; pure bliss!

I have 2 spare blanking plates if you'd like em' - one for the EGR port on manifold (near firewall), 1 for the rear of the EGR solenoid. Please note both my EGR bolts on exhaust manifold snapped on the way out and I had to retap M10x1.25s to fit my blanking plate properly, reused the old EGR gasket.
