New ECU Reset

Hi all

I flooded the side where the ECU is and it is covered in mud inside. I have went to the wreckers and brought a new one for my model, 2008 3.2L ML Manuel 4x4. What is the process of relearning the new ECU? can't find anything online for my model.

You need to write the VIN to the ECU and then tell the immobiliser to share the security codes to it. Not all ECU allow this, I know 2012 mitsubishi does not allow used eECU to be recoded to another vehicle.

Dealer spec tools can do it, if allowed, but i do not know if any aftermarket equipment will re write VIN numbers. My snap on Tool will not, but it does everything else on Mits
