I've been trying to find a coupling nut to extend the thread on mine but I'm having no luck at all. I saw this mod on the Pajero forum.
But the 10mm fine thread is a pain. Does anyone have any idea where I could get some?
cheers

Has anyone actually tried the airhawk seat cushion in a tritron ? Thinking of getting one but wanted to see if it lived up to its reputation .
Cheers

I only mentioned the air hawk because we normally use them in the rally car and they have been awesome the last few years. But this year they were left behind ( old navigator owned them) and I just carefully folded and placed a towel in the same position rally is done tomorrow and to tell the truth I have not missed the air hawk that much ( to be fair it's only about 4500 km this year but still won't rush out to buy one

Didn't know where to ask this so move it if required mods.
Would the rear folding seats from a challenger fit a triton?
Getting to jacks and other gear would be easy as ?

kwikfab,
I'm having the same issue with my Triton GLX+ seats.
I want to get hold of the spacers, from what I can tell they are the fix.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to purchase?

Fitted the kwikfab spacers to both front seats couple of months ago and couldn't believe the difference. Actually sit back into the seat now and way more comfortable and supportive. Wished I had done it years ago instead of putting up with they way they were.

I second that. I just fitted Kiwifab (Ted's) spacers and WOW what a difference. I was slightly skeptical at how much some people raved about "the difference", and for the first day I wasn't too sure, but now it just feels right. BIG improvement, sitting back nicely against the seat. I can tell its really going to make a difference on those longer drives.

Money well spent, and right up there for best bang-for-buck mod.

As above, he has just recently made a batch of spacers, and may have some spare stock.

Due to my Pelvis being smashed by being hit by a car when I was a younger, I am finding that I struggle with the standard seats after a 30 minute drive. I'm looking for a more supportive seat. I that there has been some guys who have changed their seats for better quality.

Question is who has done what, how hard was it, did it work, has there been anyone in Sydney where I might be sit in it. Any help much appreciated as I'm in alot on pain. Love the truck but not the seats, would probably be the same issue with any vehicle.

The MN is a little more limited than the ML due to the airbags in the seats. There was a post on this issue on facebook tonight and someone was saying they were getting a recaro with airbags built in. If you think about the costs involved in a new seat I reckon you might end up ahead by going to a good motor trimmer and having them cover the existing seat in leather and build in extra padding/bolstering etc when they do it. That way you'll also end up with a pretty customised setup and not have to get it engineered as you would if you start interfering with the mounts.

The other option might be to see if you can pick up either a set of the leather seats out of the luxury pack MNs which have a lot more adjustment in them. Not sure if the challenger seats were the same. I think the newer MNs may also have had more adjustment in them but I'm not sure what yours has so whether that would be an improvement or not I don't know.

Thanks CD, mine is a 2012 GLR and therefore no side airbags. So keen to see whats out there.

Oh, well that opens up additional possibilities. Still a question of price vs effort I guess.

Homer went with a pair of leather statesman seats. They required custom mounts and a fair amount of fabrication followed by engineering signoff. But they're powered and adjustable and a decent colour match to the other trim.

Snowie has an aftermarket Stratos seat, which is a bit like a plain racing seat and sits pretty low. I doubt you'd call it a real comfort modification though. I'm pretty confident that Stratos, Recaro and maybe there was a third brand sold by opposite lock - also sell mounts that will fit the tritons so you probably have a choice from their full ranges there.

There was a member down in SA from memory, may have been tufftroop, who had fitted some nice leather seats from a Lancer (evo maybe?) which looked pretty good.

Then there was another member down near the ACT who had some leather seats done by a mate of his. Might have been gadget or gadgetmn or a similar name to that? There were images posted on the forum at the time. They looked pretty flash but weren't real cheap.

On the aforementioned facebook thread there was speculation that seats from a particular VW (golf maybe?) or a convertible astra were straight bolt up fits but both of those posters seemed pretty hesitant/doubtful about what they were sharing.

Yes I need to look around. The seats in the wife's Lancer aren't too bad and the the 40 year old seats in my Triumph Spitfire are even better and they now have little padding left.

Maybe a seat at a different angle/shape is what I need. Will contact Snowy about his seats. I don't think spacers will help, the seats just seem too hard.

MOWF said yesterday "lucky you knew about the seat spacer thingies, heaps more comfortable with them"

"yes dear ... that's thanks to that website forum you bitch about me being on so often"

"oh, is that where you got them?"

"yep"

"what, from some random bloke on the internet"

"yep, you knew that when I got them 5 years ago"

"mmm, can't you buy them in shops"

"nope"

"oh well, they do make the seat heaps more comfortable"

"see, I've tried to tell you that website forum is useful."
