GLXR Auto with canopy- I'm getting very similar figures to g_mac (27000Km),my average at 100km/h is 11.5l/100km. However I did hit 15l/100km towing my camper trailer. My best economy is acheived at 80Km/h with a large increase above 100km/h. I am going to have the fuel economy checked at my 30000km service. I will keep informed of the results.

Cheers

Absolute shithouse economy - about 20L per 100km so about 650km from a 125L long ranger tank :x

To make matters worse, I did all the upgrades together (shite-loads) so will be gradually removing some stuff - ChipIT, Filter etc... to try and find out what it is.

I drive a 200 series VX V8 Diesel most of the time so the poor old triton never does enough kms for a proper diagnosis. I might have to loan out the Cruiser so I have to use the Triton and work through what is causing it.

My last small quantity relearn was done with the chip still installed so I should get that redone (heard it makes a diff) without the chip too and then try the chip on a less harsh setting (running folder 3 F-Y-U tune with the fuel limiter mod but not driving aggressively and seems to do the same on F1T3).

Got some homework to do.

None of those mods point to 20L/100 mate, even with that big arse canopy. There is something else wrong..

After my previously shit results posted somewhere way up there ^^^ I actually managed 11's and 12's on a recent run to Canberra & back averaging a little over 110kmh. Still had quite a bit of gear in the back and could have got better figures if I'd eased the speed off a bit. So for me the bad economy is mostly due to city stop start driving.

No idea what produces figures like Fnordy's. Mine only drinks that much when towing 2 tonne up big hills.

You're doing nothing wrong. You just got your vehicle in the same batch I did
11.5 to 12.5 l/100km average. Rarely under that, and I don't drive too badly.
With the chip, was up to 13 to 15 regular!!! Went like a shower of poop, but I could feel the hydrocarbons in pain
Course, having a large brick canopy on the back doesn't help

I've heard it said that the economy improves a bit with age as things loosen up a bit. Not sure if this is true but something to think about as your truck gets some more miles on it Perko.

My stock GLXR with canopy regularly does 9.5 KM/L 10.4 KM/L on highway :D
Towing my caravan 2120 A.T.M averages 6.4 KM/L cruising @ 100 KM/Hr :D
Just clocked up 30000 kilometres
I record all fill-ups in a log and figures are slightly better on long trips.
My father owns ML single cab auto tray back and does not get these figures. His average is 8.7 KM/L :o

Are u guys looking at this guys shed    what am i missing hes got a [censored] load of weight no wonder why: big muddies, A chip, a steel front bar, winch, two fridgies, two batteries, (yes your car fuel economy will drop charging all the time) a canopy thats pretty big and hes played with the limiter mod which after seeing kyle and borngeek on take off every time produces a noticeable puff of unburnt fuel, plus a small 2.5did with a short toque curve= high revs to get moving around= high fuel usage

what am i missing   (shakes head) walks off to point other more obvious things out......

Flamin heck :o To sip that you should have more smoke behind you than proud marry. No doubt your truck is heavier and less aerodynamic than mine on average but that is outrageous!
I run a the wildest tune Justin would send me and never see those figures even if towing over 2.5ton.

I would expect this in heavy sand though.

The chip and rail mod should not harm the economy unless you hammer the crap out of it full time. I cant do it as would be either speeding or run up the arse of another vehicle.

Geek and I see mid 10's but his truck is way lighter as has no sht bolted to it.

mine seems to be around the 9 / 10l/100km mark, but only when driven very nicely. i think the 32" tyres have made a substantial difference, i find even if i change my shift point 600rpm from say 2800 to 22200 or lower, it dramatically alters the consumption, much the same throttle percentage, its strange iv been monitoring it for the past 3 or so weeks.

I don't seem to average any better than 10l/100km's mixed driving. I think with all the accesories and gear the Triton would weight around the 2200Kg+ mark, so lugging that around I don't think it is too bad.

Hey Guys,

I'm new to the forum and to the world of Triton power. I took home my brand new Manual GLX-R 2 weeks ago (goes in for its 1500 tomorrow) an on the first tank I got 750Ks to 64L. I was very happy with that, although I had a 2wd BT-50 3 litre TD before that with the same size tank as the Triton. The best I ever got from the BT was 600Ks to 72L.

I love the Triton though, getting a hardlid fitted at the service and will be looking at a Sahara bullbar shortly (money Pending).

Since picking up my MN last thursday, i filled up friday and so far 260ks for just under a half tank, not to impressed but i'll wait and see until my next fill up. Only addition is a canopy and has done 25000ks.

Does anyone know roughly how much is left in the tank when the light comes on, i thought its better to know if i ever get really stuck for a petrol station.

According to the manual there are 11 litres left in the tank when the light comes on. We have pushed it and gone 50km after the light comes on and still only put 64 litres in

I've noticed I have been getting better k's from getting me diesel from BP. Being I have a lease car I can only go to caltex or BP. Found I was getting around 10.5L per 100 at Caltex and with BP I get 9.8 to 10l. Average speed would be round 105.

On this has anyone else found the difference between fuel from different servos.
When all else fails the TRITON will provale.

I do with BP and Caltex LPG, 20-30 klm's more per tank from these two than most others..........

The 'supermarket' gas is crap and I can tell after I take off a noticeable drop in power
