hi all here, thank you guys so much for your input

i've actually been having this problem for the past few yrs, but only happens once or twice a month

then now its 3 times a day

thought it was a bad fuel filter, changed it, all good, barely into 8k on the new fuel filter, shit is happening again.

I have a chipped up triton from MONSTER, changed out the rail limiter ( if i think what it is, was changed out 3 months after getting the truck, if its that little valve at the end of the rail with a spring inside, mine is welded shut)

I will check the fuel sensors. One guy said to change out the sensors or something.

I will update you guys on this.

Cheers

If its the CEL I'm thinking of it comes up as fuel pressure loss.
I had it heaps when I first fitted the chip (early ChipIt) turned out to be a faulty wiring loom. ChipIt replaced the loom & problem was fixed.
Might be worth a very close look at your wiring connectors

I might be able to help you with plugs, firstly, give each loom a good shake near plug whilst engine is idling. If there is an issue, the engine will jump a bit or stall.

Thanks!

Just to be sure i'm messing with the correct plugs, which ones are they?

I did the one on the common rail, is that the correct one?

Thanks!

cheers

I cant see from here.

Tell mechanic to check earth return on rail sensor as well. If unsure, open the loom (Make sure gets the right wire) and add earth strap to battery.

Just read back, do you have Monster hard wired in? They use rail sensor so I would pull the unit and fit bypass if has such thing.

Issue could be where Monster ECU is spliced in too.

heya,

yup, the monster is spliced into the ECU from inside the car.

been almost 6 yrs with the monster inside :(

what i did though was at the end of the rail, there is this pressure thingy that i swapped out ( i was suppose to open it up and add some adaptor to prevent pressre release), but instead i swapped it out to one that was welded shut, this was to increase fuel pressure..

alright dam :( was hoping it would be an easy fix :(((

thanks again :)

Cheers!

Don't give up, just work through it one thing at a time. Wont be the limiter valve anyway 8-) ...We call that "Bricking the Engine" over here.

hi guys,

swapped out the fuel filter and scv.

now EGR is permanently on ( i can clear the code, off the engine and it will come back again)

now for the " loss of power", this happens 2-3 mins after u start up the engine ( had it a few times)

could the EGR valve be linked to this?

any help will be appreciated all :( dont wanna go back to the dealers.

Thanks all

cheers

Have you checked that the plug at the fuel rail is in properly? I'm also getting this code intermittently. I removed my chip and haven't had it since but getting other codes as a result.

heya

i checked it, its all good

other forum members said, check thatplug with the engine running, if u thug on it and the engine reacts ( revs etc), then u have a dirty sensor or something

that didnt happen :(

i swapped out SCV and Fuel filter, now its the dam EGR, just bought the dam EGR and waiting for the mechanics to be free to swap it out.

My EGR has been blanked off for about 4 yrs ( car is 6 yrs )i just hope its just the EGR motor failing.

will update you guys.

Hi all

just an update for everyone ( and for people's future reference)

Swapped out the whole EGR unit, found out EGR was totally chocked up with whatever crap ( its scary)

I thought there was a hole in my blanking plate, checked it, it was still goo ( just had a big layer of soot on it

the EGR unit was exposed ( i didnt blank off the bottom previously as if i remember correctly, i had some check lights or something, so that plate was taken out, but the main plate into the intake was blocked off) to the exhaust gas and it was choked up pretty badly

cleared the check light, went off, will update you guys on the driving as i hope i wont get that limp mode any more!

So if this works, future reference for people:

if you get P0093 and at the same time EGR shit,

check SCV, Fuel Filter and EGR,

wish me luck :)

Alright folks

I'm still battling this dam P0093. I love my truck but seriously, i'm considering changing my fuel rail just to see if this is the issue.

So alright, info on my truck:

1) Fuel rail bricked ( 2 months after i got the truck in Oct 2010)
2) ECU Piggy back ( Monster tune)
3) K&N High Flow Filter ( the big ass one)
4) EVO 9 Intercooler

Truck will be 7 yrs old in october

P0093 has been plaguing me since 2016.

Changes done:

1) Diesel Filter Changed ( was changing every 20k )
2) SCV changed
3) EGR changed
4) MAF sensor changed ( bought from Ebay)
5) MAF sensor cleaned every 2 weeks.

is there anything you guys can help me out with on this? :(

thanks in advance guys.

cheers

Sorry to see this is still a problem,
I started getting it out of the blue a few months back and from a previous time I went straight to the connector on the back of the fuel rail.
I had a faulty wiring loom when I fitted the chip many years ago.

I removed the wiring & made sure the pins were connecting properly. Has not faulted again since.

Does this happen at any time or mainly when the engine bay is either hot or cold?
I suspect there could be one of the connecting pins losing contact giving the ECU a false reading of pressure loss when temperature changes.

They are in a bugger of a location but see if you can give the pins a slight twist & close up the connector slightly as well. A spray with contact cleaner would also be a good idea.

Hope this helps.

heya! thanks!

the guy said the same thing

1) SCV is dirty

2) The pin connection is a bit screwy.

will have to go back to get it sorted out soon. hahahaha

but hope this thread helps people who are having this problem
