ECU Error Code - P0093

Postby scubapro on Mon Feb 22, 2010 4:56 am

Hi Guys,

I blanked my EGR plate off yesterday & went for a run down the M4. On my return trip the engine management system cut in & displayed error code P0093.

Does anyone know what this means & does anyone have a list of all the possible error codes please?

Cheers

All the posible codes.

your not going to like what that code is - fuel leak- large.....

When I first put in my blocking plate I would get a different code each time I reset using the scangauge

Hi Justin here , yeah it will continue to come up at the worst possible time , If you fit a ChipIT chip they do go away and not return , otherwise take it out as it will put you into limp mode at the worst possible moment . The codes are also generally low manifold pressure / or fuel related as previous member mentioned , this is due to not enough ,manifold pressure being made as the exhaust gas increases manifold pressure when the EGR is open. Chipping the vehicles add more fuel earlier and makes more boost through the low and mid range than it usually would . This combats the EGR blank off issue . Cross my heart :D . Feel free to call me to discuss if you wish.

Brett,
I initially went looking for your code listing- on the ample outdoors website.
There are no links from the ample outdoors front page to the scanguage listing.

What about some group buys for the newtriton guys on P7 torches etc, like you do for the pradopoint guys?

Good to see you around, any new updates- trips- vids?

on the topic of fault codes I've now had p1272 come up twice (P1272 Cylinder #2 High To Low Side Open), once towing up a big hill, and 2nd time on a flat dirt road doing 100kmh. engine went to limp mode, (which was a pain in the a$% going up hill) and i reset using the scan gauge. I do run a tdc plus chip so i dialled it back a notch. should i be concerned and has anyone else had this?

Well I finally got my first engine light & major power loss. :(

P0093 code,

EGR blocked for 12,000km- no problems.

Fitted ChipIt last week. Short trips no problems. (std tune)

Just went for 80km drive, ok till I slowed for traffic lights, when I powered up engine died completely.

Checked code, cleared fault, restarted, went to take off & it happened again.

Am not sure if it is going to happen again soon- am currently in waiting room at Goodyear getting new feet fitted :D

Hope it doesn't happen when they test drive it

The above posts say it should not happen with chip?????

Any suggestions?

spoke with ChipIt on the phone today. Very helpful ;)

Suggested Tune 3, - Have done that, so now back in testing mode.

If it works out ok they will send a custom tune with a mix of tune 3 & 4 for different rev ranges. Cant ask for more. :D

Will see how it goes over the next week.

Will get a good workout this weekend on SA trip, 6 hrs each way + 1 day 4X4 :)

will post results later

Snoozy, I hope that works for you, but if your suction control valve as dodgy as mine was, even removing the Chip completely won't stop that P0093 code form coming back

That's correct subi_man, the SCV should really upgraded if possible.

I have the same problem right now ............................ does any one try to modify the common rail pressure valve. I installed a new chip test road it for 1200 kilometers no problem but after that check engine light turns on all the time even i turned off the chip.

update.

I have not had any codes/lights for couple of months now. :D
It turned out to be a faulty chip wiring loom.

Chipit replaced the loom without any hassle & problem solved.

i got you on that, it is the only suspect i have right now because we added some washers to make the valve spring to make it tight and now i keep on having the P0093 error and it is a large fuel leak. I will be trying to look for a commonrail valve tom. to replace my old modified valve.

Got a new commonrail pressure valve, test rode it for a while no check engine until i hit 140kph/2900rpm boom check engine. Turn the chip off again, dang it just keep on comming.

Replace the SCV last week but still using the standard size. Today will try replace it with a Denso after Market SCV, it is bigger that the standard and they say it is better.

This P0093 error code is so persistent................................
