MN Triton Workshop Manual

Postby RockoWallaby on Sun Apr 04, 2010 7:40 pm

Heya Folks

Trying to source a copy of the service manual for the MN Triton picking up next week.
Can probably get it directly from Mitsubshi on CD, but wondering if it can be surced elsewhere.
Not after a pirate copy...I'm quite happy to pay for it. But prefer not to OVER pay for it, since the last one I bought from Holden was nearly $300, and if I can get it from overseas sor such, I'm happy to do so ;)

From what I gather, the part number is MR936949

Anyone come across this anywhere?
Cheers,
Scotty

I searched around and waited etc but in the end I bit the bullet and bought one. If you ask a dealer for it by part number they'll go all weird on you and tell you it's not meant to be sold to customers. Apparently it's supposed to be for workshop/dealer use only. The first dealer I asked about it told me point blank they don't sell it. The second said they'd have to ship it in from Adelaide and it would be $250 plus. Third time lucky the guy said I shouldn't sell it to you but I will anyway. Was just under $220 from memory and he did have to get it in from Adelaide. Took a couple of days.

Apparently there is a copy in the reading room of the SA state library too...

As to pirate copies, the disc appears to be copy protected in some way. My attempts to create a 'personal backup' copy all failed miserably

Thanks mate

Had the same crap from dealers before, with other vehicles. Load of bulldust. Who they kidding? Simply a good way of trying to stop people doing anything themselves.

My interest, more than anything, is in the basics. Wiring diagrams. Troubleshooting. Basic repairs. Modfications, such as replacement suspension, etc. The same sort of stuff any Gregorys or Haynes manual would have. Still always had my vehicles logbook serviced by authorised dealers.

Should have done what my housemate did. Insist on a copy when he bought his new vehicle, as part of the "deal" ;) Smart fella. His copy, too, is piracy protected, for his 75 series cruiser. Makes it cumbersome at times, but that's life.

There ARE apparentl people selling PDF copies online, from charging doenload sites, but 1. they're piratted and 2. Prolly dodgy as hell ;)

RE: the Triton manual you have, if I get nowhere with my current dealer, do you happen to remember which dealer finally ordered it in for you?

Any one have a copy of the MN manual with the suspension components? Just finished an engine rebuild on the 4D56 engine. Not the most pleasant of experiences. Remains to be seen if I did a good job. The next 10,000 km will tell. Had lots of trouble getting all the necessary info from numerous incomplete bits of manuals.

Hey John how is the engine going a year after the rebuild, also does the engine have cylinder sleeves? Did you add any or do anything like ceramic coat pistons etc etc

Chris

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?
