This Morning i went out to my car to go to work and as soon as i opened the door i notice the glovebox and console open and papers everywhere.

the only thing they took was my garmin gps, the mount and charger for it.

there was heaps of other stuff they could have got, but it seems they knew what they wanted.

for [censored] sake! yesterday i got a rock thrown at it, last night it got broken into.

my dog was going nuts at about 12.30am jumping at my bedroom window, but it was stormy last night and she hates storms so i figured it was that. i even went out the back with the torch so maybe that was why they only got what they did?

I just spoke to Garmin and gave them the serial number so now they have locked the GPS, it is useless to whoever stole it, so fingers crossed that the idiot takes it to the only place in perth that fixes them to get it looked at.

If you caught them mongrels in the act you'd strap'em to the front bash plate nose down and take'em for a joy ride up a rocky gravel road somewhere and when finished leave them there.;)

Man, unlucky saurus...

The thing that shits me is the insurance companies and police act like it's our fault for leaving valuables in the car. As far as I'm concerned I can leave what the phark I want inside a lock car, if someone steals it, it their fault. I'd go as far as to say I should be able to leave it in plain view unlocked, theft is theft.

It also means most likely, someone saw you with the gps in the car/putting it away in the glovebox or just assumed it was in there?
How did they lock the GPS? does it have a SIM card in it for data?:-) :-)

The manufacturer locked it when i called them, they just needed the serial number. i asume they just block it from recieving data from the satelites.

ive since noticed that my new deck was pretty much allready out, i found this out cos it was rattling around, and also the knobs that hold the cb in its bracket were loose too, i must have scared them off when i went out the back to see what the dog was barking at.

it was obviously someone who knew what they are doing anyway, targeting 4wds cos most of them these days have lots of little gadgets and such.

Got a new gps thru insurance, still cost me a fortune with me excess, but on the plus side my model that i had has been superseeded by the Garmin Nuvi 760. so i got the better one

How did they get in Tri. Smash a window? Least they didn't take the whole truck. I had mine keyed at the local shops. Luckily the panelbeater came out and polished a bit ans said it will be right with a little elbow grease....Dam probably should be out there now doing that.
