Hello guys,

Was just wondering if the hole saw rental was still going and if they are available. I'm picking up the new safari snorkel tomorrow and am looking at very tentatively taking the plunge and cutting into the vehicle myself.

Hey Kingy,

Was wondering how you went with the hole saws and fitting your snorkel. Any tips for when I start the first cut.

i'll be installing the snorkel this weekend perrett. should have the hole saws in the post monday.

On my first ute i stuffed up the pillar bracket, i tried using the rivots but you can't get the rivot gun lined up properly to install the rivets. so this time i'll source some screws out and use adhesive as well.

make sure your templet holes line up properly with your snorkel. Use rustkill paint on holes you drilled. Make sure you seal up your air box properly as well.

thats about it man, i think theres an install guide somewhere in this forum

Thanks Kingy,

I was looking at a mates snorkel the other day on his Prado, he went a cheap ebay version. Could see why it was cheap. big gap at the front that he ended up having to fill with silicon and if he tried to bring it back it would have missed the pillar.

I'll take your advise on board and make sure I take my time. You know what they say "measure twice, cut once".

Lost, I've moved your post in here but clearly you already know about it. Read back on the procedure and PM the last member who had them.

I see that you're in the Gong. If you get desperate then I have the right sizes and you're welcome to drop by my workshop and use them if you like.

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?

Anyone ever tried to use tin snips ? - I have done 5 installs over the years (using tin snips ) and always found them to work far superior than my first attempt with a wholesaw!
