Assuming that is that the one you buy is the same size as those that others have installed.

If it's an eBay cheapie than those sizes are right ;) and reading earlier post seams most are the same anyway :)

I am giving some thought to doing a self install snorkel, and wondered if this hole-saw rental thread was worth kick-starting again.'
I might be happy to buy a new set of hole-saws if another member was prepared to give me a hand in doing the install

Hi, SydneyMark.

I was looking into doing my own snorkel some time in the next month. I been checking out the prices of the required hole saws as well. Where abouts in Sydney are you, I'm down in the shire but don't hold that against me.

haha, just our luck, I am the other side of town, near Chatswood, but distance doesn't have to be an issue, eh?

I am heading off on a big camping trip early April so would want to get it done sometime this month, otherwise it would be July.

It's the confidence I am lacking, hope you have lots of that :)

After reading the various snorkel posts I intend to get a cheapie off ebay, perhaps I should pull my finger out and go buy it asap LOL

Hi All,

Triton Wreckers will supply a new "rental kit" of the two saws, including a new arbor. All professional/trade grade gear.

I will order tomorrow and will have delivered to the first person that requires it. Please PM me your address.

The rules will remain the same as the generous donation and system first created by Bill65 and Kegsy all the way back in 2010. What a great idea!

Finally I will mention a fellow sponsor on here that supplies snorkels. It is always good to support those that participate on and financially support this great website. ;)

Cheers, tritonwreckers.

not sure why it's doesn't look like it sending, but i have tried to send a pm to you re the hole saw loan, if it does, or doesn't get through then please please sent me a pm and perhaps that will work

att mods...
i also noticed that a PM i tried to send to another sponsor re reversing lights doesn't look like it went through, not sure why. at the time i just thought they were being slack and not getting back to me, but now i wonder if if something else, perhaps my fault

It sits in your outbox until it has been read at the other end - if that's what you mean. Many have their PMs setup to be forwarded by email and if so they don't actually need to read the real PM and it will sit in your outbox until they clean up their inbox.

Ah. Thanks for clearing that up.
Perhaps the other pm I was referring to went through but they are/were just slack. Lol

The recipient you're talking about has had a bit on his plate of late but last I'd heard he went over to Melbourne for some sort of car race. Or he was about to go, or something like that. Hard to keep track of that bloke he's nearly as busy as Tony and he's the busiest bloke I think I know.

I would suggest a PM to Sydneymark above but I don't think he will have received them yet. If that doesn't get you next on the list he will at least tell you who is next.

Nope. The saws haven't turned up yet.
Anyone around Sydney that could lend a hand or at least moral support this weekend assuming the hole saws arrive by then

thanks Triton Wreckers, the hole saws turned up today.

i see from the instructions for the snorkel i have that they say to use a 100mm and a 90mm hole saw and the ones we are using from here on are 102mm and 95mm, i presume that past experience has shown that a little bigger is better (who would have thought it? LOL)

anyhoo, i hope to do it this weekend and will then forward the hole saws to Kingy (can you send me a pm with your address please?)

a couple of questions, is it possible to do this on your own, or are two sets of hands essential, and i see in the instructions they advise using a zinc rust proofing paint for the bare metal, I have some color coded white paint from an auto shop, whill that be ok instead?

Sweet I'll send you a pm now mark.

Yeah it's possible to do it by yourself. I did it last time by myself. But this time I'm gonna get a hand cause there's a bit of stuffing around with getting your hand up the guard to screw it on.
