I've heard of cars being parked too close to the locos in the steelworks and having the paint melted a bit I wonder if that's what happened plus the metal being heated causing some issues?

My nudge bar mounting bracket keeps rusting through

It doesn't help that Mitsu factory paint is extremely thin, keep an eye on spot weld guys, as this is normally where it first starts...

I've noticed the very thin paint. A couple of little marks on the door edges. Thought it was just mine. I have noticed little rust spots on mine on the drivers door hinge. Problem was after the snorkle was installed not all for the metal shards cleaned up. Solution was to cover with lanotec.:o ;)

The paint is very thin, I've noticed chips and scratches on the tail gate are very easy to do.

It's a very "soft" paint!
Spent most of my money on booze, women, guns, utes, motorcycles, fishing & boats.

I wasted the rest!

Was same on my 04 model - had to tie a brick to the cat's tail to stop it jumping on the bonnet & marking the paint...........;) ;)
Tip # 1 - Avoid stress & grief & low resale values with vehicles - do it once - do it right, buy a HILUX!!

I had the shit scratched out of my 03 Bravo when a cat tried to climb the side of the ute......

Best thing to do after you have the brick tied to the cat is throw the whole lot into a dam......

Problem solved forever!!

We've got strays that fight round us, I've been contemplating Panadol tuna for a while!
He who dies with the most toys, wins
It's not the size of the dog in the fight that matters...

Beware using a hacksaw near your paintwork. Will have the same affect if the filing gets on your paint
