Triton in the media

Yes, electric traction will eventually dominate the final drive.

Everything will be digital, stepper motors providing traction with abs, asc, etc. Dynamic breaking will be used to recover energy.

A smorgasboard of power sources will initially feed these motors, battery, diesel and gas electric gen sets, fuel cells, fusion reactor cells, etc.

The new Triton glx-w will fly up to 400km.

The biggest benefit will be the weight saving, no diffs, gearboxes and heavy motors.

The negatives - more govt control of your vehicle, your steering could be overridden if you attempt access to an unauthorised track, cars pulls off the road and shuts down if the rego is overdue, a counter on the dash will show your current bill for road use based on time, road category, vehicle type, etc, brave new world! Be careful what you wish for.

I have to say that I for one am glad I went with the current shape rather than waiting for this newbie, I had the choice to make and am happy with it.
I really don't like the look of these, I hope they look better in the flesh

Didn't take them long to bastardize one. 8-) 8-)

I'd like it over there.

They will look pretty smart with some bar work. Lets just hope the running gear is "smart" as the vehicles new appearance.

the diff ratios point to that, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are subtle differences like we see in other models.

like whether 9" or 9.5" rear, whether the axle tubes are the same length as the preceding models

would be hoping for some changes to the rear chassis, but we will have to wait and see.

If the new beast is running the same wheel base as hasn't widened then the bulk of the chassis and front suspension is probably the same with a new body planted on it.

I thought the 32' tyres on mine slowed up the 2.5 how will the 2.4 lt motor handle 35's?

These are geared lower than the ml or mn, so a little bit better (in theory) able to turn the bigger tyres gearing wise

Remain to be seen in practice....

This is a good thing if they have because it means if more companies will cater for the new triton which means these components will bolt straight onto our models :D

Only in low range, in high both manual and auto are taller geared than current MN manuals/autos.

I like the look as well 8-)

I think it is going to make the MN and ML look old. It's got just the right amount of cool weirdness to it, which is what I loved about the ML. It's something Mits are very good at when it suits them.
