The horizontal section of the sports bar is in continuity with the semi-Bertone creases above the door handle height and continuing thru' the tub, the wheel base is shorter addressing turning circle complaints but probably adding jitter to the ride and hopefully not chassis rail fails, the big secret may be Italian input into the engine, possibly thru' MV Motori / Fiat collaboration. It will be very interesting times for Mitsu given the disappointments and incomplete development/quality issues with the current engine series. Limited life product is the norm with the vehicle industry as it is with electronics, are our expectations too high. Will the warranty be extended to 7years to ally fears of the now wisened market for the CRD and its economy myth. Smaller turbo-petrol, electric variants may follow, is this the end of an oily era...

We already know, from specs released at overseas releases that the wheelbase has remained the same as the outgoing series and that this, together with a new steering system was introduced back in 2006 with the ML, to address the turning circle issues of the MK and prior series. What many were hoping for was actually an increase in the wheelbase which would have put the rear axle closer to the centre of the tub, improving load handling.

I assume there's some sort of embargo on info?

I see MMAL still haven't learnt how to integrate a towbar with the rear steps yet (think landcruiser, amarok)... still using the old grader blade. It surprised me, I like the look of it. The tub doesn't look too long like it does on the mn.

I work with one. His 2.5 has been a lemon since day dot. Lag limpy surge surge limpy lag. He just got it back frim getting the manifolds done and its still crap.
There is little doubt mitzu are aiming for the povvo end of the spectrum now and will dual it out with great wall. Good luck to them with that. They are gonna need it with lowest in class capacity and 5 speed auto.

Mine has been a lemon, but for some reason, I still love my truck. Despite it giving me the shits when something else goes wrong, I still love it, for reasons I don't understand. Yeah, I too wish I had a ML. Now, I wish I owned a Ranger

To your defence the current ranger/bt prolly weren't out when you bought. But now there is nothing close to those. I suspect the v6 navara could have been the ranger killer. Pity you cant get em any more and when they were available they were very exxy.

You're right, the current version wasn't out then (2010).
I think the v6 naval was lacking in 4wd technology as compared to the others.
Whilst I probably won't be buying the next gen triton, I am very keen to check it out, for interests sake.

And it's begun

Doesn't really seem overly promising and in all seriousness the competitors are leaps and bounds ahead.

I think mitsi will find the all new triton a fail unfortunately, probably 5 years to late

I'll stick with my MN thanks

They have gone for a niche.

not to be the biggest or the most powerful or tow the greatest load.

It retains the same wheel base, so that it is manoeuvrable has class leading torque to weight

it will surprise you.

Really who wants niche?
Personally I want the best in something. I thought the ML looked the best when I bought mine and was the best price.
I won't be buying a next gen triton, hanging onto the ML and upgrade my commuter bring on the 200 series LC!
