Yeah but I think his jumps are a bit higher than the top gear bloke.

In essence, major features very similar to what there is now. Super Select on GLX-R just for Snowie, Easy Select on GLX.

10 Yr warranty in NZ... I wonder if we'll get that over here

how do you think your 4wd selection is done now?

have you read up on the solenoids and flashing orange lights- its current triton and pajero through vacuum actuation

the manual lever in "most" 4wds these days is a look, the selection is done remotely to these gear sticks, only vehicles still doing the true lever thing are those with free wheeling hubs, think how many of those "non auto hub" 4wds you have driven in the past 10 years (I can only think of the landcruiser ute)

yeah i was a bit like you but now i find the lever gets in the way of my left leg. as 26 says it is already just a glorified switch.

may as well be done for a sheep as for a lamb with the electronics....... :|

So they finally put suicide doors on the club cab. 8-)

I do like the look of the new Triton, the chrome grill looks a bit busy but would look ok with bar work I think. ;)

I do prefer the old lever actuation but the switch would probably be just as reliable.
I know our transfer lever atm engages 4x4 by electric/vacuum solenoid but what about low range? I thought it was done by mechanical linkage? :?

The current Super Select transfer box is all mechanically operated by the lever, the switches and vacuum bits are there to engage the front diff operation when required or more appropriately deactivate the diff operation when in two wheel drive.

So from my understanding, if any of the electric bits fail, all the four and two wheel drive options are available but you can't disconnect one of the axles from the front diff (ml).

With the nob activated systems you're totally at the mercy of the techno wizardry.

Guessing Oz will be similar given the exchange rate.

Cars have always been much more expensive in NZ than here, due to low volumes.

Patience, grasshoppers, I'm sure that MMAL will know exactly where to price the new model. ;)

I'm tipping just over $52k for the GLX-R dual cab equivalent.

I just laughed hearing a kiwi say fresh off the boat :P

I like the look of them. The crease works for me...so does soccer mum blue with those wheels

I'm def not a fan of the bigger is better fad that's appearing now. The Triton is sized right for my use. Towing etc would be different, but I wouldn't use a DC ute as a tow vehicle anyway.

I like the look of the Rangers the most when given a bit of kit and would probably be my car of choice if they've ironed out a few niggles.

But the BT50 and Dmax look like sh.t. This is a better looking car than either hands down....imo.

I thought the BT50 might grow on me like the different looking ML's did on people, but it wont. It's already a dated look...an ugly dated look
I hate to advocate drugs, sex, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they’ve always worked for me.

It's growing on me but I still think they must of been drunk when they designed the front of it. The grille looks like an aftermarket add on from Thailand. Wait until I see it in real life before I give it a pass or fail. Definatly needs some bar work to hide it though

No psycho computers in those ole Variants though!

And....cabling, switches and solenoids had a bit of "meat" on em.

I can see where vehicles are heading. Consider the upcoming drivers-less cars; sitting at the dealers workshop, unloading to the shrink (mechanic) what a hard month it had, traffic was shit, owner not happy with getting to work late, getting remarks from other cars that it looks fat with all the accessories the owner has bolted on....etc.
