Buzzy - got a price on trading mine for a new one the other day. With it only being 9 months old, the change-over price left me fairly unimpressed, seeing as my last Triton cost me 10k in devaluation, for 2yrs / 70km running.............(sold privately though)
Tip # 1 - Avoid stress & grief & low resale values with vehicles - do it once - do it right, buy a HILUX!!

I'm not surprised the trade-in price was crap, HC.
Might have been something to do with those fish swimming around in back...8-)

I'm hopeing there are a few errors on the site.
They apear to have omitted the foglights on the VR and 17" rims are only on the GLX-r and above.

Time will tell. Not concerned with the rims BUT the foglights already had a home in my new ARB bar ;)

Had a quick look at the new 'specs' on the Mitsu web site and it is good to see that cruise control is standard at last, should of always been.

The brochure is contradictory as it says 16" and 17" rims are standard on the GLX-R/GLS. Does that mean you can specify which one you want, ie 17" are a no cost option.

I also see the diesel's have gone up $1,000 as well, which is a bit rich as prices should be coming down with such a strong rise in the Aussie dollar in the last year or so relative to everyone else.

Taking that into account I imagine there wont be too many diesels selling with the price of fuel as it is.

I'm certain the VR also gets the 17's, the one I seen on the lot the other day had the 17's on it, oh and the vehicle wasn't sold, so unless the dealer optioned them which I doubt..

Hi Stu - was looking at the same again. Am now gonna run this for 12 more months, & re-evaluate things then. Should be a Hilux 'birthday' coming soon too.
Have spent today using various D-4D SR Luxs - no clearance in std form, & all had noisy gearbox / transfer-cases.......
Did'nt inspire me too much really.

Yeah I would say in 09 there will be a few changes but it is toyota so don't expect to much, less upgrades means better resale seems to be how toyota work.Think clearance in all brands is pretty crap std and 2 inch lift doesn't do alot apart from stuff wheel alignment ajustablity. No noise from auto and transfers.I will probably go cruiser wagon next time round and do the chop stretch tray back deal, dual cabs are all over priced for small gutless 4cyl diesels. :(

Trouble is Stu, they still want 30k for 1997 80 series Cruisers here. Spent 10 more, & ya got a new ute - not something thats 11 yrs old....Good point on the auto being quieter - have'nt had a go in one yet.
