Then how about $212 which is the current price from a dealer. :shock: My 80 amp fusible link blew last week; no one knows why. The symptom was a slow start before it fired up which makes sense when the glow plugs are not working.

If you've got the skill or know a good autolec, I'd get the OEM link bypassed with an after market plugin link that can be replaced for a couple of bucks.

I have seen a few of these blowing with unsecured dual batteries fitted, with dual fuel filters fitted and just generally bad wiring in the area. A stray earth wire has caused a few to blow.

Have also seen ones with brand new batteries fitted by battery world...... Go figure

Yep, I have the skill but I was away at the time (in my Forester) and so told them to order and fix it. No labour was charged; just the part. I've got the old one and intend patching it up as a spare.

That's interesting - I replaced the battery not too long ago; I'll have to compare dates and see if they align!

I checked the date and battery replacement was 12 months ago so it's not a contribution factor
