Anyone had their airbag light stay on?
I've done a search, but can't see any info.
It's been on since yesterday morning, talked to service dept, they want it for a day which i can't do till the week after next.
Im glad the dealer fitted my bar
Mine has been on for a month or so, it started flashing when I got stuck in a big puddle then came on permanently, dealer tried to reset but told me they could not communicate with the airbag computer, probably need to fine corroded connection
Given its a 4WD vehicle, the sensors should be able to handle a 'drink' without any hassles. Should'nt be too hard a fix at the dealer. If that were to happen here, the vehicle could potentially be issued with a 'non-operative notice', till the problem was fixed..........
Tip # 1 - Avoid stress & grief & low resale values with vehicles - do it once - do it right, buy a HILUX!!
I think it's the seat belts as they keep sticking or bad connection near the steering column, when I get it back from the stealers (2 weeks since the engine went) I will find the problem.
All the yellow connectors in the truck are meant to be for airbags.
Mine came on two days ago. Has returned fault codes B1477 and B1604 according to the stealer who had it today. They managaed to clear the codes but couldn't find any problems. They say it was fine on the test drive too. I doubt they did anything at all given the bloody light came on within 5 metres of me driving it. "We'll have to have the car again" is the best the "service" manager could come up with.
I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal labotomy!
Our light has come on 5 times now. Each time the dealer has rectified the problem, some visits requiring a full day in the workshop. Once they thought it was something to do with the seat belt mechanism, left hand passenger. Other times it has been a loose wire behind the accelerator kick panel but the latest one it seems is "low Voltage". Vehicle is booked in yet again for 5/9 to have problem fixed once again.
Hi ArrowsWA, The chap I saw at By Mits was Paul. Chris Allen used to be there but has now left. He was very good with my previous air bag light problems. We do the real outback track stuff so the young ones at By Mts don't understand the conditions. We will try and get to a meetup sometime in the future when life settles down a bit.
Now mine has come on for no reason at all! Tried disconnecting the battery but that did no good. Will take it to the stealer tomorrow. I'll ask about the ECU program while I'm there and see what they say.
Tassie, I just had mine done. There is a hotline fix for the seatbelt pretensioner but my stealer wouldn't let me get hold of the number. Give Mark a call at Australian Motors in Adelaide (08)81793666 for information if your dealer is no joy.

Hobart stealer coming up with all sorts of b$#@it. Says fault codes are 'major' and that something somwehere is fried. Mumbled something about the wiring of after market parts! They've had the car all day and want it all day tomorrow! How hard can it be?
Fixed...so far. Apprently some clip in the seat belt pre-tensioner had come loose. Took 5 minutes to fix once they got their diagnostic computer to communicate with the car and get the right error code..or at least that's their spin on it!
Light is back on! Went to dealer this morning only to be told that their auto electrician doesn't work on Mondays and Fridays! Try again tomorrow I suppose.
Hey Tassie. Mine came back on late last week. It turns out that they replaced the wrong part. So the dodgy seat belt pretensioner is hopefully being replaced today. There is a hot line fix for this which I will endeavour to find out the number of today when I pick it up. They weren't forthcoming when I asked for it last week. This time I'll just try to read the paperwork.
