You may have to be more specific there mate. What switches? What panel? How many switches?

It gets a bit tight down there with the cigarette lighter in the middle. I've put three rocker switches in the little box beneath the cigarette lighter with the flip top lid - not sure if you have a GLXR though so you might not have that.

Anyway here's a couple of options to get you thinking:

You can also link pieces together like this one to make a panel for as many switches as you want:

Air on board have now released a similar switch to the lightforce - except they are going to be doing custom laser etches. 8-)

Red for the MN:

Blue for the more vintage ML units:

They have one for a lightbar in their store but presumably there will be more to come.

A bit of a problem though in that many of us only have the one blank on the dash and want to switch more than one item.

Hey all! Need some input.

Wired my hazard auxiliaries today, and took out a blank under the radio to fit a genuine carling switch...

But!! Do I need a separate bracket/where do I get a separate bracket so the switch fits in firm?

It's floating around a fair bit!Click to view larger pictureClick to view larger picture

Think you can buy triton switches from air on board, push button ones and they will print what you want on them..

Cheers Coughy. I'm not great with intricate work like that (without a spare!!), but shall keep it in mind. The single panels that are designed to suit the switches look like they may be the good. the width is the same, +/- about 0.5mm height which I don't mind filing out of the panel if I need to.

Anyone notice that the standby light on their carling style switches getting hot?
Mines a genuine carling, and always on as it's to lights that need to work when the car is off...

Obviously if I connect it to a point that only works when the car is on, I'll avoid some of this concern... But didn't think the bulb would warm up so much??

Common complaint with carling switches.
thought they would have gone to LED by now.

Just went into pride auto to ask... They had no idea about led versions, other than non genuine carlings. Recommended I do a bulb replacement at jaycar. Probably cheaper too!!

Replaced the bulbs with LEDs... The switch didn't like it... So replaced the top bulb with the old and just left the bottom one out!

Carling switches with LEDs

The colour actually looks closer to the rest of the dash in real life. I bought from OTRATTW and you can mix and match switch bodies and faces to suit what you want. They have a new switch design now which looks even better than the Contura V.

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?

I bought some off ebay that were non genuine carling but were led, cant tell the difference and over 12 months in my car no dramas so far. The genuine carling on my spotlights, the constant on globe when the headlights come on the globe blew in less than 12 months, was always getting quite hot.

Is anyone using the OEM style switches from stedi? I have one ready to install but have noticed that when the switch is installed the text is upside down in the one I have. I can't change the orientation of the switch button and I can't turn the whole switch upside down as it will not fit in the housing.

Any suggestions welcome. Bit baffled.

Got a switch from Air on Board for the spotlights and in the instructions it says you need a 1 amp blocking diode? Old man used to be an auto sparky so he's installing them for me but he's going on about this diode. Never read anything about it before and doesn't make any sense to me, what's the deal with it?
