hi dave
so why would mmal in all their wisdom not have this fan installed from factory
to cut costs maybe  we just need to find an aftermarket type
and fit it in ;)

Does your Aircon not Function Properly?

If not Complain and tell them its not fit for use, Mitsi should supply the upgrade, just like they have with auto Boxes in some vehicles that weren't fitted with a Cooler.

Don't walk in there and have a winge, go in there and tell them whats F**King up, that's what i did at my dealer when they wouldn't assit me i went to another Dealer and they were more than happy to help.
They then got another New Vehicle Sale....

At the end of the day the Fan has made my Air con better than what it was,

Did it still work before fitting the fan?? YEP certainly did, it is simply just better now than what it was before fitting the thermo fan.

Can also see it helping the radiator, in extreme days, to remove excess heat
I will be setting up another switch to pull in this fan regardless of the Air Con being on

It has definately helped the temp in radiator,

I noticed a drop in my temp guage as soon as it was fitted and running,

:? :? :? Read below (was just 1 page back....)
You can buy the genuine article without cutting, hunting etc. Waterproof plug and fits straight in... 8-)

Of course it is omitted from factory to save money (and make the product's retail more competitive)
If they included everything the car would be a lot more than $45K retail.

Some of you need to get a grip. Not fit for use, spare me!

SO, anyone that has the connector as shown in post 1 can fit a Thermo fan and relay in and it will operate when the air con compressor clutch is engaged.

Fan assy p/n MN123607 New Triton Club Price $253.08 + Tax
Relay p/n MR588567 $19.80 + Tax

PLEASE NOTE, there are only now 3 fans in the country at this time

if you order them it may take a couple of weeks to get them from Japan.

Cheers Lee

Edit: part number fixed, thanks AG, and leethal.

If u dont fit the fan then nothing will change with your car, your air con still works, Your Engine still maintains a stable and safe temperature. No one is saying you have to fit one.

How many people out there have done modifications to your car???? ALMOST ALL OF US, some small mods and other LARGE MODS, this is all that this is, a modification to IMPROVE some items

The one thing my wife has complained about the Triton from new (and she loves the Triton) is the lack of cooling power in the air cond... and it's not like my location is renowned for it's hot weather!

sounds like this is a good thing and as soon as I mentioned the fan to her she said "buy it!!"

However, the Placebo Effect is a reality (being being that when we think we're doing something that we think will be helpful we generally then perceive that it has helped, even if things remain constant).

So, I know Leethal has commented on both radiator and air con temps being lower with this instal. The radiator is easy to identify via the in-dash gauges or scan tool etc.

Can/has someone who has it installed actually done an internal cabin test (as simple as holding a thermometer at the vent outlet) with this fan active/not active?

I'm prepared to spend the $$ if it does actually make a difference - some numbers help settle this decision though!

I think iti s a bit early, yet as its all subjective, I have done no actual tests. I have installed one, as has Lee, I dont know of anybody else.
I have not seen any difference in where the water temp guage sits but it has only been in for a few days.
Same with the Air Con. Have not noticed any major difference but the days haven't been overly hot, just humid.
I bought the fan because of the issues with restricted air flow through the radiator due to the bullbar and mud clogging it up. Just preventative really.

You won't notice any change on the dash water temp gauge.

It's a dummy gauge. They only move when the temp moves outside of the safe range. They don't move with every incriment like a proper temp gauge.

Scangauge or aftermarket gauge is the only way to know for sure.

Thanks so far guys - maybe if someone can keep us posted?

I'm particularly interested in the air con temps.

i guess if you're measuring, using the scan gauge for any difference in water temps would be handy info too!

You won't notice any difference while the car is moving but when it is stationary there will be a fair improvement.

Put mine in today.
At idle the air con works 10 times better than it did. Also seems the temp while driving has dropped a bit too on the scan gauge. Very worthwhile mod!

No plug on my 08 GLX 3.2.

Might just look into getting a generic fan and running it to a rocker switch, also with the xrox bar I can fit one infront of the intercooler aswell :)
No more Triton....

Now where did I leave that Patrol ;)
