Aux cable for ipod not working?

Aux cable for ipod not working?

Postby Austblue on Mon Sep 08, 2008 8:14 pm

Guys,

I installed the cable as per the instructions which also match the article linked below and I'm not getting any sound when on the AUX setting??? Has anyone else had any issues? I haven't clipped the dash back on yet so if I have to I'll go to mits and ask them to look at it but I have to say I'd much rather not go there - they'll probably blame it on my tyres :(

Haven't heard of anyone having your problem AB. If the 3 pins are inserted correctly, and your iPod volume is turned up then it's possible you have a dodgy cable? :?

Yeah played with the volume on both the ipod and the unit and nothing. I'll grab the boss's ipod tomorrow and see if that works. Wouldn't think mits would be able to stuff a simple cable up :(

Just check that the metal clips on each of the three cables have gone all the way in and are making a good connection.
Might be worth a try.

I'm hopeless  I didn't realise that you had to pull that locking retainer out to get the pin connectors all the way into the housing.

I went to W'gong mits and dealt with the mechanic and he loved the ute and even climbed under to chat about the drive shaft with me :)

Yeah all sweet. I wish electronic companies would standardise their power connections though I have about 4 different cables sitting in my glove box and I have to cycle them to keep each gadget charged! I'm determined to get rid of them all and get a carpc by christmas though :D
