Cut UHF cable

Cut UHF cable

Postby TheSheepKed on Thu Aug 23, 2018 6:00 pm

Just have a question about UHF coaxial cables.

Recently came into possession of a fibreglass GME UHF antenna. Decent quality piece of equipment.
Only issue is that the previous owner had just snipped the cable off rather than feed it through the firewall and out to remove it from the bullbar.

Could anyone advise me what how I should go about either replacing or joining a co-axial cable from a UHF antenna?
I already have one wired into my UHF if that helps.

Thanks!

G'day mate,
you can purchase co-axial connectors easily enough through JCAR or similar outlets, just remember to heat shrink the join to keep it nice and clean. You will lose some signal strength through the join but would be nothing noticeable in your application with the length of co-axial you would be running.
Better to be silent and thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt.[
