Drivers electric seat motor replacement/repairs?

Postby DAZ2007GLS on Wed May 19, 2021 7:35 am

I have a 2007 GLS and one of the electric seat motors has stopped working, the rear raise/lower one.
I have checked the wiring and switches and they are fine, have tried putting power direct to it and nothing, I used all the same processes on the front motor and it worked so i know i am testing it right!
It would appear to have rub marks on the armature, on opposing ends and sides. It spins freely and the brushes look fine.
Are these repairable/ replaceable?

I would check the switches with a multimeter first before assuming it’s the motors. I’m not very familiar with Crown Vic seats, but you should be able to replace just the motors if they are at fault. You could also look for a replacement seat with the same upholstery from a local salvage yard. They are a dime a dozen. Good luck!
