Its a ML series. I have not done any electrical work recently to trigger the light to come on.

My MN had the clock spring replaced in the hope that was all it was, the light was off for about five minutes, then I had to wait for over 4 weeks for the turret and floor harnesses to be in stock so they could replace them both. They had the truck for two days.

Yes but in the MN it's well known that there are dodgy loom issues whereas they're almost unheard of in the ML. I'd guess your dealer stuffed up going the clock spring route on yours.

Quoted $230 to clear code
$170 if I get a service with it
And they need the car all day

Found a scan tool on eBay for $110, but does not do diesel

I asked how much for a code clearance from mits at Wyong three years ago
They said .5 hours labour that would be about $50

That's BS !!! Stealers alright

I took my passenger seat out while I was running wiring and drove down the shop. Airbag light came on. Re connected everything and drove to the dealer. Got there at 4:55pm on a Friday arvo. They gave it a scan and cleared the code. I asked "how much do I owe?" And ol mate said "get out of here and have a good weekend !!!"

That's the service that keeps you coming back not like the crooks above.

The quote is from a large company in Penrith ( where I brought the car from and get regular services )

I took it to my local mechanic who looks after my wife & kids cars

He attached his device to the truck
He can see the code, select it, but can't clear it
Keep in mind I have not replaced the clock spring yet
So I'm hoping when I do replace the faulty item, he can clear it
Failing that... There is a guy in mulgrave apparently that has better toys to scan with

I'd replace the clock spring first it won't clear until you have replaced it..
It might even clear itself....just guessing there

Abs lines will clear when replaced, srs lights/ codes require the mutt3 to clear once the problem is fixed

Thanks guys, I am a little worried about this problem as it seems very difficult for Mitsubishi dealers to fix! hopefully I won't have any further problems when I get my truck back.....time will tell!

I wouldn't say it's difficult, it's just that there are 3 or 4 potential culprits and they tend to work through them from cheapest/easiest to hardest/most expensive. So loose plugs/ poor connections first and full replacement cabin loom last.

That'd be the same company that wanted $800 for a workshop manual! Rip off! I stopped going there.

Hey guys I recently posted about my airbag light being on for a couple of weeks. Well I found the solution for that problem. The story goes I replaced my rear taillight and uppon checking the brake/reverse/indicator lights were working once reinstalled. I noticed both reverse lights were out. So I replaced the reverse lights fuse, which cost me 95 cents. And wallah reverse lights worked and the airbag light turned off.

my MN airbag light had been on for a while. just had 15k service. lower loom replaced under warranty.

they are clearly aware of it as they had some in stock and did it the same day as service (they did not have prior warning). That is pretty rare for warranty issues involving parts.

I just joined the airbag light club. Turned on about 20 minutes after fitting Narva Driving Light loom. I must admit that the stock wiring in these things looks crap. Billions of tiny wires in bundles that are largely unprotected. I know the mice love to munch on them on those cold nights. Little bastards.

Had MN checked today re airbag light. Picked up 1 later - all done. 2 hours later light was back on. Back to dealer - light cleared again but floor and roof looms ordered. Informed by dealer that Mitsubishi will only install new loom after fault light has been cleared twice. Will only take a day to do. Painful but dealers have been good.

Mine is in the workshop having the harness replaced. Will be interesting to see what happens afterwards! I have an after-market alarm which was wired into the harness - they had to cut the wires and of course I'll have to get it wired up again

Mine has been fine since the loom replace mate (about 20, 000kms ago) so hopefully you shouldn't have any more issues with that (fingers crossed).

Any dramas with appearance of roof lining after they rip it off to put roof loom in? I had heard they never go back up looking as good as factory.

I took my 2010 GLXR into Mitsubishi today to get the airbag light checked, they told me it was the floor & roof harness :( mine is just out of warranty due to the k's & they have told me it's going to cost $1700 to be done, they have the floor 1 in stock but the roof 1 is on back order & will take aprox 3 weeks to come in.

I had the light cleared but can anyone tell me how long it will stay off for? I need to get a roadworthy done on it & it won't pass with the light on, I have it booked in for tomorrow morning, hopefully it stays off for the RWC then I will get Mitsubishi to fix it in a few weeks but bloody hell $1700 & they wouldn't even help me out cause it's just out of warranty.

If it comes on again it might be worth checking if you can disable the warning light during the roadworthy?

As for being out of warranty - that's complete bullshit. Are you the original owner? This is a known and widespread problem that has been present in your vehicle since it came off the factory floor and kms have SFA to do with the emergence of the problem.

I'd be complaining long and loud about that one. And seriously I have no idea how this hasn't become a full national recall.
