Called and booked mine for new harnesses after the airbag light coming on for the 3rd time. Was told around a 4 week wait as parts are in high demand.

They didnt even look at it just said they would look through the service records and sort it out from there. Also have to remember I have to pay the canberra tax... Every thing costs twice as much as it should and takes two weeks longer than it should.

I had this problem on my 2014 MN and it turned out to be that the reverse light fuse had blown due to my Red Arc Tow Pro being hooked into the reverse light wiring (Well done ARB). For some reason the Airbag light comes on when that fuse blows… Hope this helps

Mine has no cruze control ,8619A017 is for cruze control. So would that make mine 8619A016?

I've heard of a couple done as 'goodwill' jobs.

My airbag light came on ...... went to Tynans. They confirmed the issue, waited 3 weeks for parts and they had it for 2 days .. all good now.
They replaced ALL 3 harness's... just to be sure..

cheers, Rod

Mine was.....4 years ago though.
Edit: sorry misread post. Mine was in warranty.

I suspect they wear out from steering overtime as do many moving parts. I will be replacing mine I suspect next time with a 30 buck aftermarket one.
Being out of warranty now I guess if I had a wiring fault I would prolly just run another core along the wiring route.

I suspect if one happened very soon after a dealer sold a used vehicle they may feel obliged to remedy it.

I thought it was more a case of it being a bit of a known problem and something that doesn't happen just through wear and tear. But you never know what drives these decisions at times.

I had this warning light and was told by my mechanic it was due to the seat belt pre-tensioner. He reset the code and it stayed away for a month. It has just come back. Could I not just reset it using an ODBII / App?

No a standard OBD reader like a scangauge or ultragauge or even the phone apps usually won't even see the airbag codes let alone clear them. Maybe there's a safety element to that.

You can buy devices specifically for air bag codes but they tend to be more expensive.

If you're still within warranty take it to a dealer.

2010 MN. The dreaded airbag light came on last week, I thought it had forgotten about me  Roof loom replaced under warranty. It's been in for all the other wiring and squibs over the years so hopefully all resolved now as it has been completely rewired. Checked the lining, still looks okay.
