have had same air bag light come on was told the first time had fixed it but back on again so this time took to local dealer and they tell me that the whole wiring harness has to be replaced to get this problem solved , rang the oringal dealer and was told that they had tried to fix it by computer coding which obviously doesnt work , all replaced under warranty and they did not hesitate at all about telling me that it is the harness. All good so far.

The dealer couldn't fix the air bag light issue - like others it apparently needs the loom replaced which they have ordered. I am not happy about driving a car with non functioning air bags. One of the guys at the service desk could not relate to my concern and said that I didn't need to worry even after I pointed out insurance issues.

So my airbag light came on 2 days ago. :( I had a brief read through this thread, but can anyone tell me a rough price you guys have paid to have it rectified?? Hoping it's not too expensive.

Most of these have been warranty jobs I'd say mate.

Cheers guys. If it is the clock spring, will my airbags still be operational? I was trying to think all last night about what the other thread was called so I could search. I was pretty severely heat stroked and couldn't for the life of me even think of what I wanted to search.

Bugger, cheers fridgie. Mo' money to be spent. Although it should be easier to convince her majesty to allow for funds to fix airbags.

Good price if it is the correct item :D

Does anyone have the part number of the genuine? I'm skeptical seeing as it's also listed for a mirage, outlander etc etc.

After a few days delay MMAL refused the request for a loan vehicle as the looms were already on their way.
The triton went in today to have floor and ceiling looms replaced - it will take 2 days.

Hi Guys, I'm new to this forum so G'day all!

I have had the dreaded SRS light come on in my 2012 Triton and am due to have the wiring harness replaced soon! What I would like to know is has anyone had the SRS light come back on after the loom has been replaced? Also, does anyone have the service bulletin that Mitsubishi have sent to their dealers? (I know this is a dealer only doc, but someone may have had a dealer contact :D ) I would be interested to see what it says!

I don't think I've seen anyone have to have it done twice, at least from what I've seen on the forum anyway.

Does anybody know of a good Mitsu dealer in Sydney area. My airbag light has been on for a couple of weeks now and warranty has run out. Wondering if this problem would be covered as a common fault for the triton and if not how much would it cost to fix?

Do you have an MN or ML? These harness problems seem to be an MN thing. The MLs sometimes get the same thing from a failing clock spring. Have you done any other electrical work on the truck lately? A few have triggered lights that way too.

I recon this should be a recall of all MN tritons it is still a major problem and you should not be required to drive around in a completely unroadworthy car
You cannot register a car with the airbag light on like to see what hapens if some one is killed or injured Mitsubishi won't have a leg to stand on as the legal guys only have to look no further than this forum for documented proof that is dated
I drove for 9 months with the bag light on, complained to Mitsubishi in writing about driving with no airbags reply "we are looking into it"
So the 4 star rated car is only a 2 star with out the bags operating "Love that car"

I'm going to finally attempt to replace my clock spring on my ML... I've had it on my list for a while now

Will the light go out automatically once I have installed it or will I have to get it cleared by mitsubishi ?

Pretty sure the airbag codes need the mut3 mate.

And yeah you have to wonder how bad it has to be before a recall gets triggered don't you?

I'm still driving mine with the recalled electric seat switch...

Kind of defeats the purpose of fixing it myself
I do all the hard work and they charge me a fortune to clear the code

Does anyone have access to mut3 or similar in western sydney that can do a cashy once I replace the clock spring

You'd hope they wouldn't charge you a fortune for it since its a 5 minute thing plugging in the computer and getting rid of it. Would be good to know if any of the high end snap-on scan tools have this functionality.
